At April 23, 2014, a girl in the Montbello county in Colorado in the United States of America, committed suicide. Honestly, I was grieving all day of this incident. She was a friend. She was a living person. I used to think I was immortal and have my life ahead of me, but I noticed I got to inch carefully to not fall in situations like this.
This is a serious forum post. We respect towards the ones tangled, including me, in this incident. We got to fight wars versus ourselves sometimes. |

@People saying it was her choice, Clearly there were problems in her life, possibly a mental disorder, possibly depression (Which is actually a serious thing, brainscans have proven this)

@People saying it was her choice, Clearly there were problems in her life, possibly a mental disorder, possibly depression (Which is actually a serious thing, brainscans have proven this) -------------- Because, nobody else had worse problems then her in the world... right.....
Bottom line her choice. Getting murdered is horrible however this was her choice. |

| And yet you think that's a reason to blurt out that you're not sympathetic? Can you not keep your stupid mouth shut? You just HAVE to post about how you don't care, huh? |

You just HAVE to post about how you don't care, huh? ------------------ Never said I didn't care. I said I will not feel sorry for her. Do I think we should find a way to help people who're thinking about killing themselves [I am not talking about dehumanizing them with pills I am talking about actually helping them] sure.
Am I going to cry about it and feel sorry for people who did this to themselves? No. Not all problems need to be sympathized to. |

| I'm not asking you to care. You posted that you won't show sympathy, when you don't know how much of an ass that made you seem like. |

| It was still her choice, even if she was depressed and had a mental disorder, it was still her choice. She did it to herself. |

>Implying there's no such thing as mental problems caused by genetics ------------------- "More than 90 percent of people who kill themselves have a diagnosable mental disorder, most commonly a depressive disorder or a substance abuse disorder." So in other words they need to stop abussing drugs/drinking etc or should seek a psychiatrist. |

Like I said not all problems deserve sympathy and this one doesn't since they chose to do it. Only people I feel sorry for is her loved ones. i do not feel sorry for her as this is obviously what she wanted. |

I understood that. You didn't HAVE TO POST THAT, it would only offend the OP. Then again, that's really all you 'intelligent' people want to do. |

And in some cases, legitimare disorders such as depression can lead to substance abuse, as well. It goes both ways.

| I'm not sympathic towards GCers (you don't have to feel sympathy for me either), I'm simply shocked when people go out of their way to say "OH SHE DIED?! It was her choice so whatevs." |

What do you not understand about that? Am I a bad guy? Absolutely! I do not wear a white hat. But instead of sitting here and crying about it I actually want to change it that is what you've lost sight of. The only way to stop this from happening as often as it does is to actually take steps to help people. |

And in some cases, legitimare disorders such as depression can lead to substance abuse, as well. It goes both ways. --------------- "Depressive illnesses are disorders of the brain. Longstanding theories about depression suggest that important neurotransmitters—chemicals that brain cells use to communicate—are out of balance in depression. But it has been difficult to prove this.
Brain-imaging technologies, such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), have shown that the brains of people who have depression look different than those of people without depression. The parts of the brain involved in mood, thinking, sleep, appetite, and behavior appear different. But these images do not reveal why the depression has occurred. They also cannot be used to diagnose depression.
Some types of depression tend to run in families. However, depression can occur in people without family histories of depression too.9 Scientists are studying certain genes that may make some people more prone to depression. Some genetics research indicates that risk for depression results from the influence of several genes acting together with environmental or other factors.10 In addition, trauma, loss of a loved one, a difficult relationship, or any stressful situation may trigger a depressive episode. Other depressive episodes may occur with or without an obvious trigger." Source: http://www.nimh.nih.gov/health/publications/depression/index.shtml
Depression is a disorder in itself meaning a majority of it is caused by chemicals in the brain that are out of balance. All it takes to fix depression is treatment and if it is due to emotional issues eg; abuses psychiatrists are a good option. |

I haven't lost sight of anything, yet I don't like offending people who are already in a sad state. k? ---------- Yes you have. Your solution at the end of the day ends with comforting their loved ones and saying it is bad. My solution is to actually crack down on what is happening in the world and what can we do to fix it.
Comforting people is not an answer. Fixing what made them sad in the first place, there is the answer. And doing that is how to slow down the large growing statistic that is suicide. |
