| First, gently unplug all wires from the router. Next, take a hammer, AND HIT IT AS HARD AS YOU CAN UNTIL YOU SEE THE CIRCUIT BOARDS! |

Depends on you ISP as well.
I know mine prevents routers with an unknown mac-address from connecting to the modem and you have to call them to install a new one.
