Keep in mind I live in a country where schools can have age ranges from 6-16.
The teacher was teaching some 6 year cOLDs (roblox filter) about pre-history.
"This tribe was from the time of Julius Caesar, and Julius Caesar was a roman emperor."
I said, "He wasn't an emperor; he was a roman dictator."
Then I got sent out.
It was pretty funny. |

| If what you're saying is, "they might not understand the concept of Roman dictator", then he could have just explained it as, "Julius Caesar was a Roman Dictator for Life, which is essentially the same thing as an Emperor in all but name" or a simplified version of that. |

">Prehistory; wut?"
History before written documents. He was specifically talking about Celtic tribes at the time of Caesar, which didn't have a form of writing.
">You can be an emperor and a dictator."
Yes, but Julius Caesar wasn't an emperor. He was a dictator for life. Before Julius Caesar, all Roman dictators were always elected and always voluntarily gave up power at the end of Rome's crisis that required a dictator.
>Democratic school is a school where you don't have to do work but if you want to you have classes of all ages."
In that case, I don't go to Democratic school. |

@FELlNE
Forgive me. The filter used to work like that, so you simply couldn't say "[x] year olds" without a filter and a ban.
@mikeyman12ash
That makes no sense.
I understand that the Romans would have pronounced it as "kaiser", but "seizur" is a lot easier to say. Pretty much everyone I know when speaking English pronounces it in the latter fashion on account of such a reason.
If the only reasons is "well herp derp it's because the Romans would have pronounced it that way" then, surely, you shouldn't even call him "Julius Caesar"; you should call him "Gaius Iulius Caesar".
By the same logic, one must NEVER call Nero as "Nero", it is imperative that he is called "Imperator Nero Cladius Divi Claudius filius Caesar Augustus Germanicus".
The point I'm trying to make here is that the pedanticness here is utterly pointless and the very definition of counter-intuitive, with no other way to describe it.
TL;DR version: it's an Anglicism, and there's nothing wrong with that. Anglicisms make things easier to pronounce, and it's simply illogical and, dare I say, stupid to try to fight them. |
