[History]
The Assassin's Creed, often referred to as the Creed, was the code and guiding philosophy of the Assassin Order, upheld from at least the High Middle Ages until the modern era. It restricted unnecessary slaughter of innocents, preserved the reputation of oneself and of the Order, and was meant to create peace, not only within the world, but within the individual.
The Assassins had been handing the Creed down orally from generation to generation, ensuring that its message was delivered to and upheld by every member of the Assassin Order. In the ancient Codex of Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad, it was stated that the Creed cannot be killed, even if all of its followers were. He went on to explain that the Creed was an idea, and even if all records of it were destroyed, it could eventually be reinvented by another.
The Creed mainly emphasized three simple moral tenets that focused on ensuring a successful mission, mastery of emotions, and the safety of the Brotherhood.
[The Three Tenets] Stay your blade from the flesh of an innocent: The goal of the Assassins was to ensure peace in all things. The Assassins believed that political assassinations and the death of the corrupt would bring peace and a true sense of security to the common people. Slaying innocents and civilian bystanders who did not need to die could spread strife and discord, in addition to ruining the name of the Assassin Order itself.
Hide in plain sight: Be unseen. The Assassins' aim was to get close to their target stealthily, and escape just as quickly. In more ancient times, Assassins aimed to perform ostentatious, awe-inspiring assassinations, usually in public. The greatest illusion from such an assassination was that the Assassin seemingly materialized from nowhere, killed a corrupt public figure, and vanished into the depths of the crowd or environment. If an Assassin was spotted stalking their target, the supernatural effect would be diluted, and it became more difficult for the Assassin to reach his target.
Never compromise the Brotherhood: The actions of one must never bring harm to all. If an Assassin failed in his or her duty, and was captured or chased, he or she must never commit any action or say anything that could be tied back to the Brotherhood, or bring harm to any member of it.
[Assassin Ranks] Novice: Upon being recruited into the Order, Assassins began at the rank of Novice. At the point of the first rank of Third Crusade Assassins, they were required to obey all other members of the Order, and were not permitted any weapons. Thus, should they engage in a fight, they needed to either flee, or use their fists. Being only novices at this point, they would usually only survey points of interest or gather information; at the most, only delivering any assassination targets to higher-ranked members to be killed. Assassins during the Renaissance were permitted weapons such as a Hidden Blade and were able to be called on by their mentors in the field. Novices had next to no armor and barely any skills that would have helped them during combat.
Initiate: Third Crusade Assassins who reached the second rank were permitted the use of a basic longsword and a Hidden Blade. They were also allowed to complete missions throughout other cities, however, assassinations needed to be confirmed and permitted by the leaders of Assassins. For all but those of the highest rank, Assassins needed to complete their own investigations, and stain a feather marker with their target's blood. Assassins during the Renaissance were permitted to either upgrade their armor or learn a new skill that could help them when they were called by their Mentor. They were also more effective when sent on missions because they had more experience, both in combat and physical ability.
Apprentice: Upon obtaining the third rank, Third Crusade Assassins were given a basic dagger. By this time, they had also learned how to counter melee attacks, improving their capability in direct combat. Assassins during the Renaissance were given the choice to either obtain new armor, further upgrade their armor, learn another skill, or learn a skill to have both better armor and have a skill that would help in the field.
Soldier: Third Crusade Assassins received throwing knives by the fourth rank, completing their arsenal. Though they were only allowed five initially, as they improved in skill, many chose to increase the number of knives they carried. Third Crusades Assassins could also tackle and push civilians in crowds with the sacrifice of speed, rather than just avoiding them, allowing them quicker escapes and chases. Assassins during the Renaissance were given the choice to either upgrade their armor or learn more skills.
Disciple: Reaching this rank permitted Third Crusade Assassins gloves as an additional piece of armor, in accordance to their improved climbing and free-running skills. By this point, they could catch ledges while falling should they slip or miss a jump. They could also escape and counter an enemy's grab during a fistfight. Assassins during the Renaissance were given the choice to either upgrade their armor or learn more skills. There were some assassins who chose only to improve their armor or their skills, and other Assassins who had improved their armor all the way could either finish improving their armor or begin learning new skills, or vice versa.
Mercenary: Third Crusade Assassins, at this point, had improved in footwork both during free-running and in combat. As such, they were granted boots or greaves with additional armor. Here, they were able to dodge enemy attacks, as well as catch themselves in a roll upon hitting the ground after a jump. They also had improved stability in a fight, able to regain their balance quickly should they be thrown. They were also granted a more powerful sword. Assassins during the Renaissance were given the choice to either upgrade their armor or learn more skills. As some Assassins had already finished improving their armor or skills, this was the time where they could begin improving their skills or armor.
Warrior: Though not changing much in skill set, Third Crusade Assassins at this rank received an upgraded weapon arsenal. They received an extra throwing knife belt, allowing them five additional throwing knives.
Veteran: Third Crusade Assassins improved their skill in sword combat at this point, allowing them to break through the defenses of an enemy armed similarly to them. Here, Altaïr was also granted a personalized sword with an eagle motif, which was considered an exceptionally powerful blade, even centuries later in the Renaissance.
Master: By this rank, Third Crusade Assassins improved their skill in the use of daggers and short blades, on par with their skill level with longswords. They were thus granted a sleeker, more powerful short blade; often with a more ornate design. Assassins during the Renaissance were given the choice to either finish upgrading their armor or learn more skills. This was the final rank where the apprentice had the ability to improve their armor or skill, depending on what they lacked at the time. Here, they needed just one more rank before being inducted as an Assassin.
Assassin: At this final rank, Assassins of the Third Crusade received an additional five throwing knives, as well as a more powerful sword. This curved, golden-hilted Syrian blade was used even by the Mentor at the time. At this rank, Italian Assassins of the 16th century were formally initiated into the Order; receiving a more ornate set of Assassin robes.
Master Assassin: Only Assassins of exceptional skill and standing reached this rank, and were thus highly respected throughout the Order. Over the years, only very few are known to have gained this distinction.

He lived quite a life of luxury, until he was 12 years old, when he witnessed his mother being killed by mercenaries. Because of this, Amarth’s personality was changed, becoming a colder, more ruthless person.
His father had began a recluse, though still took care of Amarth, albeit cruelly. Amarth’s father no longer treated Amarth to a luxurious life, having become drunken and consistently abusing Amarth throughout his life.
At a certain age, Amarth managed to flee from his old home, though with little money to survive. He turned to becoming a thief, becoming notorious enough to be noticed by the Assassins, who took him in and trained him.
Training for years and years, Amarth eventually became quite notable amongst his creed, at least until he was framed for killing multiple civilians. After became chastised and thrown from the creed for this frame, Amarth used the knowledge he had learned from the creed to become a ruthless rogue assassin.
Personality: Amarth tends to be a rather cold individual, as well as ruthless. Though ruthless, he is quite composed, showing few emotions other than dissatisfaction and amusement. He cares little for the lives of others, and only seeks to benefit himself. Other: |

Weight: 178 Ibs
Bodily: Unmuscular-Thin
Clothing: Black pants, grey suit vest, white shirt with sleeves rolled up to elbows. Eyepatch across left eye, a Tricorn hat and a bandanna that goes up to the bridge of his nose.
Inventory: A Kentucky Flintlock, a Musket and a Cutlass. Also a good amount of A.lcahol
Biography: Jeremiah was born into a family of merchants, who went over to the New World regularly to trade. Unfortunately, Jeremiah was captured by pirates in one particularly nasty raid of a trading port on the west coast of America.
He ended up joining this band of merry men, stealing from the rich and giving... to themselves. Jeremiah couldn't stand it at first, but slowly warmed up to the idea after many fire-fights with the navy and seeing as many women as the eye could see. His heart went from gold to black in a few short years.
Though, his luck soon ran out when a crack-shot soldier managed to shoot out his left eye and he was abandoned by his so-called friends. After he was beaten near to death he managed to crawl his way to a 'doctor' who helped him! For a fee of course. Poor Jeremiah didn't have the money though and owed the doctor a good amount of favours, that involved: murder, stealing and general Piracy.
Now, here he is seeking for work now that he's payed back his debt to the doctor.
Personality: Jeremiah is a very jolly individual and doesn't care what people do to other people. He can get on well with people who don't care about anyone but themselves as he understands their point of view.
He hates goody-goodies that would tell their mother everything bad that happened to them today an cry into their shoulder.
He enjoys a good drink. But enjoys them a bit too much and can end up with a very bad temper and terrible hangover in the morning.

The Assassin Order has lasted long before the Middle Ages, dating to before recorded history. If "The Truth" from Assassin's Creed 2 is to be understood correctly, the Order started with Adam and Eve.

Inventory: None. Novice. Biography: Benjamin was orphaned at the age of 7 (for reasons unknown). He took off trying to find his parents by getting on top of buildings and searching for them, but no luck. At the age of 14, however, he realized he was pretty good at "parkour." He decided to sharpen those skills to the maximum, and he accomplished that goal about a year later.
Surprised he was a fast learner, word got around about the Brotherhood. He realized they had even more talent than him, and he soon grew to train in the ways of them. (Stealth, finding targets, appearing and disappearing without a trace.) Today, at the age of 24, he had joined them. Height: 6'2 Weight: 182 lbs Bodily: Thin, lean and tall. Clothing: At day, he wears clothing of any southern gentlemen of the time, preferably in the colors of brown or gray. He wears no hat, and solid boots. At night, though, he's masked in a dark gray, his face masked and a hood on. A small bag hangs by his side, namely for when he is cleaning up a kill.
Inventory: Long knife(Instead of sword), small bottles around his waist, some needles and thread, and a couple smaller knifes. Biography: Born around 1750 in French controlled Louisiana, Vosar watched the Spanish takeover of New Orleans in around 1763.
He took on the knowledge and fondness of knives from his father, a fur trader, while his mother taught him more about local herbs and such. It wasn't long before he came under the apprenticeship of a Mr. Deslot VermAval, a local physican and a man who furiously opposed slavery in private.
Years went by, and Vosar's knowledge of medicine grew, along his precious with a knife. But soon, Mr. Deslot was found dead after he helped three slaves escape from a nearby plantation. Vosar, instead of seeking revenge on those who killed his mentor, simply waited. One by one, the men who killed Mr. Deslot were found dead by what appears to be natural causes. That was the beginning of Vosar's path as a doctor by day and a mysterious assassin at night. That was 1773.
1795 saw the Guild Medicorum bloom in Louisiana and the south, as a group of gentlemen doctors who could always be counted on to treat anyone, whether it be to lengthen their life or shorten it. Vosar remained as it's founder, but he still performed his own missions. After all, the Guild was more of a loose connection, not a solid group.
Personality: He acts like a civilized man, and every word he says is carefully weighted inside his head. He never can just leave a person to bleed to death, and so he shows mercy to the dieing. He, however, holds himself to his own set of rules. He chooses not to drink, but rather save liquor for medical use. He also dislikes slavery, though it's a position he keeps to himself.
Other: He's rules are 1) Never kill a innocent unless they are already dieing. 2) Never leave a man to bleed out. 3) Always make the kill as painless as possible, and 4) Always cover up the murder.

[Jeremiah]
I walk across the harbour, power walking as I go. I know someone is following me, I dodge behind a market-stall and wait.
The footsteps of the crowd make it nearly impossible to tell if anyone is following me, but this guy has been stalking me for the past hour and I know something's up, I unholster my pistol, placing my thumb on the hammer and push it down making a click sound.
Walking out of the alley I see no-one, but a quick look around and I spot him. A man in a white hooded cloak, up on the roof of a terraced house. I point my pistol up and fire it at him, but the bugger gets out of the way and he begins running across the roof.
The shot I fired had scared off most of the people and attracted a few guards. The hold their rifles up to me, telling me to freeze. The man jumps down revealing a blade hidden in his wrist and jabs it into the back of two soldier's necks. Out of shock the other one turns his rifle on the hooded man, the assailant just grabs the front of his rifle and pulls it past his shoulder maing the rifle fire off and hit the last soldier.
The assassin drops the rifle and looks at the soldier, who turns tail and runs. Looking at the assassin with a nervous grin, I draw my cutlass.

"The night remains cold, but the corpse remains...froid..." Vosar observes, as he continues to make his way. Soon he has removed the most evident symbols of a assassin, and to any passerbyer is just a gentlemen hurrying home.
"Tomorrow Mr. Sengal shalt awake, and to our surprise, he died in his sleep. Tomorrow, The Guild shall clean the body... Tomorrow, *Je serai oublié."*
