| the community can differ greatly depending on where you live. ill just list some very general areas. despite living in the northern us, i think southerners are typically nicer (and a bit less noisy) people. however, i would also say that immigrants are more welcome in the north. im not saying southern people are rude to immigrants or anything, but from what ive seen in my life, people from other countries are treated like gods up here. some exclusive things that i quite like are our facilities for higher education. most of the highest-ranking universities and colleges are in the states. of course, that comes with a price. a rather high price. another thing is the space program. most people probably dont care about space exploration (and i wont hold it against you if you dont), but nasa is the best at what they do. i simply love nasa. maybe im weird. if you need specification for anything or if you have more questions, ill try to elaborate. sorry if this wall of words is unhelpful and ill try to write a better plethora of ideas and opinions next time. |

usa in general, the people, quality of life, etc, is good, but the economy and government is bad and by 2020 it'll be much worse unless we have a miracle
and anywhere in or below the virginias is the way to go on where to live |

The community?
More into the city: less nicer people.
More into the country/more poor areas: nicer people.
All I can tell you right now. |

Fun fact: In the US people purchase more salsa than ketchup. Didn't know that |

Just your typical first world country with high standards of living and whatnot.
One difference that Europeans seem to be surprised by is distance in the US.
Five hours of driving in Europe can take you through several different countries.
Five hours of driving in Texas isn't enough to guarantee you'll make it out of Texas.
I remember a story on reddit where someone was having an exchange student as a roommate and he/she asked if they could go to Disney World on the weekend. They were in Pennsylvania, I think.
But, yeah, you get the point. |

Urban people only seem noisy because you're probably stuck in traffic with them
the vocal majority of people drive cars
Although in places like Montana and even New York people may still ride horse and carriage
No joke. |

From the UN website:
"United Nations Headquarters
Welcome to the United Nations! The Headquarters of the World Organization is located on an 18-acre site on the East side of Manhattan. It is an international zone belonging to all Member States. The United Nations has its own security force, fire department and postal administration. Visitors from all over the world often like to send postcards back home with United Nations stamps - these stamps can only be mailed from the United Nations.
The Headquarters consist of four main buildings: the General Assembly building, the Conference Building, the 39-floor Secretariat building, and the Dag Hammarskjold Library, which was added in 1961. The complex was designed by an international team of 11 architects, led by Wallace K. Harrison from the United States."
Also, If you're gonna bring up drinking ages, the cost of uni and crap
- Only 50% of students in the US are in debt. More than 80% of students in sweden are in debt. Uni in sweden is free - In the UK you have to be 18 to play CoD and other 18+ games. Yet you can enlist in the military at 16. In the US you can play CoD regardless of age.
