Any good prebuilt machine will cost you 3K USD
a good machine built at home will give you 1K off unless you buy from the wrong people

Just your average everyday evil overlord from outer space.

The second is significantly better and a great rig BUT YOU WILL SAVE SO MUCH MONEY BUILDING IT YOURSELF.

It is literally impossible to fail.

The square thing goes in the square whole, the long thing things go in the long thin wholes.

All else fails look it up on Youtube.

Also, only 8GB of RAM or more.
Only 500GB or more HDD.
Only i5 processor (or other company equivalent) or higher
Graphics card is highly up to you, but NVidia's GeForce line is usually a safe route. I prefer AMD because they are cheaper BUT they run a >>LOT<< hotter than NVidia or Intel so you'll have to fork over extra for a better cooling setup than stock cooling, probably liquid if you can.

For an OS I would recommend Windows 7. Windows 8 just... it's basically Windows 7 with an Xbox dashboard...

Build your own.
Ifr you make it yourself, you can save like, 90% of the cost.

Hence, why I have a semi-supercomputer with a 780 Ti and brand new processors while not spending much more than I did on Lifetime OBC.

Am I rich?
No.

Will I send one to you?
No.

Windows 8 isn't THAT bad if you use the Microsoft approved plugins for it.

Like, customizable start button, better start screen, etc.

It also looks more like the new super ugly studio too, so I like it for that.

Ribbon style?
Who thought up that? >.>

Please make something inspired by Skyrim's UI.
Something not so space destroying, and showing what's needed.

Ribbon styles are like, for buisnesses, not for game development.
And so, that's what Microsoft does.
Well.. okay, I'll give you Microsoft Visual Studio for use with Civilazation 5 and whatever, but that doesn't use the ribbon thing.

Ribbons = ugly
Please make a way so we can make our own? :)?

ANYWAY
Windows 8 is okay if you can deal with the start menu and adding stuff to it.
Honestly, 7 is ugly.
I just miss the good old Windows + Tab view.
