I would ask this in a Meta-Scripters subforum... IF WE HAD ONE.
Anyways, back to the original question. Is answering people's help requests(which are most likely spam, as dictated by the description of this subforum[And this includes asking why your script does not work, by the way. And even asking if something exists.]), in any way helpful? Us, the Scripters subforum, have started to break apart simply because of this. We seriously need to weigh the pros and cons of this action.
TL;DR: Why or why not should we answer help requests? |

Help requests should be answered because they encourage discussion on the best way to solve whatever the problem is.
The difference between Scripting Helpers and this forum should be that this forum should develop new, better, and innovative ideas for solving those issues whereas SH should merely help in solving them traditionally. |

@Gig,
Except you have people like this:
http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=130885038 http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=130883236 http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=130888041 http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=130889751
Yep, some idiot posting 4 threads to try to fix a free model regen button. You think he cares about learning to script? He's probably just trying to fix his free model clan base. All that does is spam loads of threads with more idiots trying to answer but being equally stupid
I can see how some questions might be nice, but usually when people have those types of questions they just ask here anyways since advanced help is allowed here.
I think Scripting Helpers should be removed so all the idiots have no chance of learning to script or fix their noob free models. |

| @Only, Not opposing your idea or anything but then all the spammers from scripting helpers would come here, making it a lot worse. |

Answer any questions that contain at least some intelligence.
Also, you could ask the same question about these questions.
In fact, about half the spam is because of people complaining about the spam. Ironic, hm? |

@Oysi,
I honestly think that people are only doing that because of 200AB and his post way back when.
Anyway, I'd only answer the questions that couldn't be instantaneously answered by some form of search engine, and when I do answer them, I prefer to proved to OP with a wiki-link. |

The best thing to do is as quickly and kindly as possible redirect them to a different forum.
It works better for question answerers and askers if they are looking in the same place. We don't want to encourage growth of asking questions in Scripters, but it is never effective to just yell.
The question should be asked & answered in SH because it makes everything smoother. |

We shouldn't help anyone here that the question isn't advanced, or completely obvious(In this case tell them to go to SH next time.)
And if they ask again, make them burn in hell. |
