Lucid Dreaming is a wonderful thing once you know how to do it. It can make you dream a dream that feels so real, it's like a real-life scenario. Of course, Lucid Dreaming doesn't come naturally. It doesn't just click like that and *bam* you know how to Lucid Dream. It takes a long time to actually get used to it and know when you're actually Lucid Dreaming.

At your first try, you'd probably find it incredibly boring just sitting in your bed and focusing on one particular thing. However, there are different strategies of starting Lucid Dreaming, not just staring at your ceiling and thinking about a subject. Here are some examples of techniques to use for Lucid Dreaming:

• Lay in bed and close your eyes (don't press them too hard, just close your eyes gently, but closed enough not to see a single thing), then focus on one thing. Do that for a few minutes - preferably 5-8 minutes, no longer than ten - and then open your eyes and look at something. Do the same process again and again until what you're looking at seems to differ from the last time you glanced at it (Make sure that you're glancing at the same object every now and then).

• Set your alarm clock to wake you up 4 1/2, 6, or 7 1/2 hours after falling asleep. When you wake from your alarm clock, remember as much as you can from the dream you dreamed while asleep. Once you've remembered as much as possible, lay back in bed and say something like "I will be aware that I am dreaming" or something like that out loud to it "sinks in" to your head. The more you say it, the more likely you will have a Lucid Dream. This technique is known as MILD.

• Set your alarm to wake you up 5 hours after falling asleep. When you wake up, stay up for an hour and set your mind on lucidity ONLY. Go back to sleep using the MILD technique (above). This is known as WBTB, the most successful way of Lucid Dreaming. It might sound extreme staying up for an hour just thinking about lucidity, but it's certainly worth it. I can't tell you that I personally used WBTB, though.

These techniques are the easiest you can use, and they're fantastic for starting to Lucid Dream. Trying to attempt the WILD technique this early into Lucid Dreaming isn't a good idea, because it's complicated and really hard in my opinion.

If you still find Lucid Dreaming difficult, you can take meditation classes to start the WILD technique, even if the most successful is WBTB. It's also useful if you imagine an "A" (for "Awake") on the palm of your hand. In your lucid dream, you might see the A and remember that you are dreaming. You should also keep a dream journal so you can stay up to date with the dreams you remember. If you look back at your dream journal, you might notice dream patterns which can turn out to have interesting results.

If you have any questions, feel free to leave them below! Thanks.
