You're reading this because you took the link from my game to read how to create a map or you lurk on the forums too much.
I had to redo this to clear up confusion.
As you can probably tell, I'm in desperate need for new maps so I can stop using the Darkness 2 map placeholder. (I want at least 5 before leaving the beta stage.) I'm not too fond of building and I never come out with anything good when I try, plus I want to let you guys contribute. You'll get 100% credit as well if I use your map in the game.
While building a map is pretty straight-forward, but there are some prerequisites I'd like before adding it to my game.
-If your map is outdoors, do NOT have the horizon of the skybox visible. Dynamic lighting does not affect the skybox, and you can see player silhouettes everywhere. Add a high fence of sorts that blocks the horizon. -Most maps should have an abandoned feel to them, and use buildings such as hospitals, hangars, schools, or any other kind of eerie abandoned building as a base for ideas. -Minimum width/length should be around 450 studs and the maximum should be around 650. -If the map is close to the minimum size, try to create a second floor. -The map is going to be in the dark, so keep in mind that players can't see anything more than around four feet in front of them. -Add light sources here and there, such as lamps, lighting fixtures, candles, vehicle headlights, et cetera. -There are 2 citizen spawnpoints and 2 Slender spawnpoints. Please let me know where you want players to spawn by placing bright green bricks for citizen spawns and bright red bricks for Slender spawns. Try to keep the citizen spawns far around from most pages and Slender's spawns.
As for pages, I will place those throughout the map on my own accord, but feel free to designate certain placements.
Not to be rude, but, please do not create a map unless you are confident you can create something equal to or greater than the maps currently in the game.
If you do decide to make a map, send me a message once you begin, and either put the map on an open slot on your places or make it a free model once completed.

| I Have A Great Place I Think You Should Use Its The Taco Research Lab Just Check My Profile! It Has All The Right Things For A Map! It Has A Abandoned Feel And A "Front Area" And Fits All The Right Parameters For The Rooms. It Has One Mildly Giant Hallway And One Giant Hallway. And Rooms That Would Be Good For A Generator. I Marked Out All The Spots For People To Spawn And Slender To Spawn So Don't Worry About That. Just Check It Out I Think It Would Work Great For Slender! |

| Also, something I really hate is the overuse of irritating screams and ambience. They add no level of creepiness to the game, only adding a level of extreme lag. Get rid of them. |
