step three: install bloody windows 7
step four: sulk about waste of money and complain about bloody microsoft for days |

@honk that's the thing, i don't want any problems i've preordered sims 4, and i want to be able to boot it up and start it super quick.
also, i just don't want to deal with unsolvable issues |

it took me about 2 hours to learn how to become root user and turn down the brightness
but i feel accomplished |

Microsoft has kept that bloody OS running for 13 freaking years, just so people won't flip a casket because your outdated OS has lost support. There has been THREE OS's since XP. THREE.
Microsoft has been holding onto this dead fish for far too long, and companies won't even bother spending the extra cash to update, even though most competent people already know how to use the new operating systems.
