So, on another forum I go on, ("ironnoob". Registrations are disabled, don't bother.) someone who hasn't played for a very long time posted that the ticket to robux rates were insane. Due to the price floor, etc, the ticket to robux rate is dying, fast.
So, amongst discussing, we thought of a way that might help reduce inflation, and add a variety of other benefits to ROBLOX.
Now, to start it off and help make sense of the suggestion I am simply going to quote the other person's post on said forum. (I do not know his ROBLOX username.) (You may skim through this, no need to tl;dr) "First it was 10 tickets. Then 18. And now 500.
Tickets are given to everyone equally. As the number of players increases, the worth goes down. Still, it is nothing more than a minimum wage. Why did rapid hyper-inflation happen?
One must understand the devs didn't just make an update to "cause" this hyperinflation-- it is actually due to the principles of the online economy that Roblox is simulating. It isn't to "promote" anything. It has been fluid for years now.
Perhaps it is due to price floors. Tickets can buy less, so they have less spending power. There is a shortage of things tickets can buy. Many players don't even know tickets can turn into Robux.
Roblox should drop price floors and start giving ticket bonuses to dedicated creators. They also need to make an equal number of gear and hats ticket-purchasable, even making some ticket-only items. Which forces players to use tickets to buy them and undoes the rapid inflation caused by utter worthlessness. Players should also gain bonus tickets for thumbs up and not gain a ticket from a player who gives the game a thumbs down."
Now, lets get into my actual version of the suggestion.
Expanding on his idea, what if it was the general thumbs-up thumbs-down ratio that affected ticket gain?
of course this wouldn't happen at lower up vote levels, as that'd make 1 thumbs up grant you 100% of that bonus, but a sort of smart system that used both upvote count and ratio. If you get upvotes you can get higher ticket count, but if the downvote ratio is high, then you start to get less tickets.
This would cause all the front page copied or just bad games that everyone plays, that have 75% downvotes, to be far less profitable than before.
This would actually also lower ticket inflation also, as the copied games on the front page would start generating far less profit.
So overall, in a way, this suggestion both discourages bad game making, encourages great developing, and decreases inflation of tickets. I mentioned the other post that my fellow forumer made simply because it had it's own points that I thought should also be incorporated, yet weren't the soul of my idea. (more ticket-based things would be nice, though, not a main focus)
If you like my idea, please, post your support and if anything help keep this topic at the top. The admins do, very occasionally, view these forums. |

Actually, this has nothing to do with BC or NBC.
If you're NBC or BC, the upvote/downvote ratio would affect you, so if you're BC it will get you the exact same benefit.
And personally, to be honest, I never had a single problem with the price floor or ticket/robux items when I was NBC.
This is an update for all, to encourage great developing, whether be it clothes or games, and discourage stealing.
I also, suppose, that these ticket value rates would apply to shirts/etc too?
Actually, that makes sense as well. That pesky marketplace fee, which has a useful job of reducing inflation because it sucks tickets and robux into a void?
The more upvotes a user-made creation gets, the less market fee/tax you get.
This may not work by increasing it with a higher downvote ratio, atleast, not until you edit the base tax fee a bit, but overall that idea works too! |

More ticket-based products would improve the now dynamically changing tix value
They can be 10000+ for all I care, people would buy it, ROBLOX would eat said tickets, and less would exist, causing the rates to drop |

| This really has nothing to do with giving NBC more rights, again... I mean I suppose NBC members might have slightly higher valued tickets, but so would BC, this isn't related to either group as much as it is something for the entirety of ROBLOX |
