Canadians act much more patriotic outside of Canada than in.
The stereotype of Canadians being polite is hogwash, at least in comparison to US citizens. The difference is practically nonexistent.
Canadians seem to pride themselves on not being American, or struggling to keep their own national identity. Many Canadian media outlets worry that some policies are becoming to "Americanized", or try to avoid being similar to US laws.
Some Canadians can't help but rag on Americans about not having Universal Healthcare and spending too much on Military. This sounds reasonable until you consider that the US spends so much on military and defense that Canada feels safe enough to not spend nearly as much on their military, and being able to but the money into social welfare programs and healthcare.
Canadians tend to be incredibly self-absorbed and and constantly convince themselves they're "better" than the US, while most Americans are too insular to even care or notice. At least not enough to base their national pride on not being Canada, lol.
Note: This is not a troll, these are simply observations I have made in my encounters with Canadians, be it online or real life. This isn't a 100% anti-Canada rant. Believe me, I love you guys, which nations have had such an open and amazing relationship as the US and Canada? Just look at that shared border! Best in the world, no?

"Are you seriously implying Americans aren't as arrogant and nationalist as Canadians?"
Never said that. I suggest you look up the definition of "insular".
Americans can be arrogant and nationalist, Canadians are just arrogant and nationalist in the sense they aren't American.
Seems seems per capita, Canadians tend to be more arrogant, ie "so much better than usa lel"

"He's trying to say Canadians are worse than Americans, which they aren't."
Nope. Again, made no direct comparison in the sense of who's better or worse in my original post. Nice try, though!
I will say, however, that Canadians are in general tend to have a self-absorbed sense of being better than the US, while Americans are too insular to even care too much about Canada.

It's not my fault you purposely misinterpret what I say and try to twist my words.
I wasn't implying anything. I did mention straightforward that Canadian's arrogance comes from them thinking they're better the the US, while Americans can also be nationalist, but not in the sense that they're not Canada.
Simplified:
Canadian "I'm sure glad we're not the US!" - national pride is being not American
American "I'm sure glad we're the best nation!" - national pride is being American, not being not Canadian.

"86% of USA thinks Canadians are annoying and stupid."
78.4592745925792% of statistics are made up on the spot 67.35120571095% of the time.
Not only is what you said not true, I will also not partake in some statistics flame war. |

Okay, seriously, I hate these kinds of threads...
Canada or the USA, whatever. Just be glad you live in either one of them as opposed to somewhere else which may be /much/ worse. |

If you've got nothing to contribute, don't bother posting. I doubt you actually read what I posted. |

You know kid, sometimes it's better to not say anything and be thought of a fool rather than speak and remove all doubt.
Let me know if this one goes over your head, I'll try my best to dumb it down to your level.

Vic, you're possibly stupider than Navy... Almost every urban city in Europe or any other continent looks the same as USA, if not better because of their historical landmarks. |
