When you are simply placing a flag, no it cannot be charged with disturbing the peace, no matter if the neighbors call and complain. Cops can't do anything about it.
If you keep waving your flag at people's faces then yes, you could be charged.
Plus, I live in California. If I can see two people of the same genders make out while in the park, then I can simply wear my Ushanka and hang the Soviet flag.

Although he will be heavily criticized if he does burn the flag; however, I honestly don't care if he hangs the Russian flag or burns the American flag.
But how does that make his a commie if the Russian Federation is now a republic that is semi presidential. |

@ign we all know the freedom of speech, every 3rd grader has used that excuse once or twice. please don't make assumptions. now, there's also disturbing the peace, this would be something of annoyance or irritating to neighbor, for example a rock band that's too loud, or in this case, burning the american flag. burning anything in fact that resemble value can be seen as disturbing the peace. |

You can be criticized by burning the flag, but it's showing your thoughts. You can burn a flag in a demonstration. You can do whatever you want to the flag. It does not disturb the peace.
Now, that depends WHERE you burn the flag. If it's on school grounds or in front of a fire station, or anywhere near a health hazard, you could be fined. |

And if you really think that burning the flag will get you arrested for "disturbing the peace", then please tell us how the Westboro Baptist Church Demonstartors aren't in jail? |

@Travis,
sounds about right. Even if you drop the American flag you have to burn it properly so it's not like burning the American flag is an illegal crime. You'd get fined or at the most arrested (Depending on situation). |

@Eric
AGAIN
Police cannot do anything about it because you are demonstrating your freedom of speech. If they do anything but even touch you, that's violating your rights and you could take them to court for doing so.
But that also depends on WHERE you are demonstrating it. |
