@Ny
I study History, Social Justice, and Law.
You think you know more about UN and LoN more than me? Just like LoN, the UN is ineffective, because it-self has no military power, it only relies in another countries to do the work for them in terms of military.
How effective was LoN in WWI? It wasn't, How effect was LoN in WWII with stoping Hit____ It wasn't.
How effective is UN in stoping Russia invading Ukraine? That's what I thought. |

Are you legitimately studying these things?
Right, it must be REALLY bad that over 100 nations meet and discuss things that promote peace.
Condemnable. |

@Dan I also know a lot about history, the UN isnt useless (It follows the interest of certian countries(Example: When the US invaded iraq which was breaking international Law, yet the UN did nothing, but when another country does something it is different. It is also a lot different from the league nations most noticed to the west is that america was not in the LON, the UN has been useful, but only to certain interests.
So In my view, you are wrong. |

I agree, and this is why america is everywhere >.> literally the only good thing about the UN is that it forces bad countries to get less stuff. "sort of"

Draco do you fail to not recegonize the US was requested to go and support the several countries in that area. Or we talking after 9/11 here? Everything they have done in the middle east was requested or forced upon them to do.

@drac
Yes, when another country will try to invade, they'll take it to the public, and be like "umg this is wrong, they shouldn't do this"
But yet, the UN won't do anything about it, because they do't have a force to stop any country from taking action/agression towards another country.
The best the UN can do (Like LON) is threaten a country economically and stop trading with them. |

I highly doubt that you study all of those...lmao.
But to be honest, the UN isn't meant to be a sovereign entity. It's supposed to be an alliance to prevent another world war. That's it. Literally, that is it. It doesn't really do that much about less significant wars, such as syria, or this new crimean war. But it does do all it can to prevent war between anyone who would go too far with each other. Russia vs. US, China vs. UK, so on and so forth. And to be honest, so far, it's done its job. Really well. We've evaded WWIII sparking crisis multiple times, mostly because the UN mediated.
Let me repeat. The UN is supposed to be an alliance. Not a military, or a nation. Its a UNION of NATIONS. Not a COUNTRY. The UN affiliates are free to do whatever the hell they want with it. Leave. Join. War with someone else, etc. As long as it doesn't threaten to start WWIII, they're cool with it. That means the UN doesn't get a military the UN doesn't get involved with minor wars the UN actually does something:The mediate and allow countries to talk it out before they do something stupid. And so far, it's been the most effective peace-keeping installment in millenia. In fact, since the founding of the UN, there has been a decrease in wars overall all around the world. The only reason it appears that there is more war than ever is because there is more media to spread word about it.

@Its You to not history? the US was "requested" I laughed lmao (Im talking about post sept.11) They invaded iraq (Which is breaking internation law) and get this, because our great president Bush thought there were imaginary WMDs there, and guess what, there wasn't, not only that, read up on some history, Kosovo, the proxy war dealings with iran (even though they ended up breaking international law once again)
So please, learn or get educated >.> |

@Dan Yes but they doesnt make it "useless" now does it? Oh and actually the UN has infleunce on military action against countries indirectly with Nato (lmao the US guns with a different logo on it XD) against other countries (Libya for an example) The point is, the UN is not "useless" and has done a lot, but it a wrong context, It has created an international dialogue this earth has never seen even with disadvantages. So once gain in my view you are wrong Can you please actually explain how exactly the "UN" is "useless"
Irony is you tell others to read history, yet you dont seem to know much in your own context >.> |
