| I don't think they should because if they did pay taxes, it would give them the right to lobby for various programs and tax related matters so it would undermine the separation of church and state. |

| Through their own charity programs (in churches at least, dunno about mosques and synagogues) they do far more good than the government's tax-funded welfare. |

They're not corporations so they shouldn't have to pay tax ----------------- So businesses without stockholders shouldn't have to pay taxes? Interesting. |

| No, why should churches have to pay to spread the word of God? |

"Yes religion shouldn't be an excuse for not paying taxes." Yes and that forces Catholic Churches to use money from collection plates to help the unfortunate. You are greedy and instable.

>workers >non-profit organizations (except for mormons and scientologists) >no workers except clergy
Since when do Priests make that money?
Show me some solid resources, blinded White Angry Social Democrat. |

Then I am afraid you lost the debate because you failed to show a source.
And lots of Churches have closed because it is hard to pay the IRS.
That's pretty evil. |

One of the two churches I will start going to are so tiny that they would probably not be able to last through taxation. When a church turns into a mega million super church, it should be taxed. When a church just scrapes together what they have to send missionaries and help the unfortunate, they shouldn't be taxed. |

| Yes, I googled the quote, that's exactly what I just said. He never said that, and there was absolutely no result for what you said. |
