Look, it really depends! A console is cheaper for me. Why? Well, I trade in or sell used games usually right after I beat them, I already have an HDTV anyway, and I took advantage of an unusually good Gamestop Xbox 360 trade in deal.
For some people the pc is a better option. You don't have HDTV, you like sitting at a desk closer to smaller screen, and you need steam deals because you just can't let go of games even though you already 100% completed them.
So, just quit arguing about it. The arguments are stupid. Of course someone will come on here and say you can hook you pc up to a tv. Yes, but that depends on what kind of room and furniture you are working with. No one wants to hold a keyboard and mouse in there lap. You sure can't fit my 32 inch tv on my pc desk either.
Frankly, I play on both. I have a low end pc that can run games like Mass Effect perfectly and Battlefield 3 on low to medium, but will crash with Battlefield 4. I also have a Playstation 4 that is just begging for Watch Dogs, Planetside 2, Wolfenstein: The New Order, The Division, Playstation Now, and many other games to come out. |

You mention these PEASNANT games, whilst you do not anticipate the one and true god, METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN?
Shame on you, not wanting to see revolver---- Wait...I don't even think you've ever played a Metal Gear game in your life.
Anyway, what does HDTV mean? I'm guessing this means your pleb 720p flat-screens.
And you can just plug up a XBOX-360 controller to your PC, ya' know?
And you sound stupid with this statement, "and you need steam deals because you just can't let go of games even though you already 100% completed them." This makes no sense, ser.

Metal Gear Solid does not interest me in the least. Sorry.
What I mean with the statement is you can trade in console games or sell them. You can't do that on pc. Your best bet at saving money on games on pc is Steam. |

"if you don't have a HDTV, get a PC"
>Consoles are barley running HD
>You can plug a PC into a larger screen TV, you don't need a desk to use a PC
>PC games are cheaper, you get more for your money than buying a game and then re-selling it
BTW, Im a grill :^) |

@rampage, Consoles have been running HD. The question is whether resolution is 1080p or 720p.
I said you could plug a pc into a television.
If you like getting games when they come out then it is a lot cheaper on console. You won't save more than $10 on a game that just came out on pc. Nothing on pc can beat the fact that one can go to a Redbox and rent the brand new CoD or Madden for $2. |

720p =/= HD. Youtube says it is. It isn't. I can see every pixel on my "Webpage browsing" TV.
And if I want a big screen, I hook up a big screen to my PC.
Size doesn't change anything.
And if you dont want a keyboard and mouse on your lap, then get one of those 'Dinner at the couch' tables, or build your own. Or play with a controller. lol. |

PC technically is cheaper if you don't have a PC and need one.
But then again, if you don't have a PC and want to build one, you're pretty much screwed, since anyone with common sense would recommend watching tutorials as to how to assemble one. |

@Shov But it isn't hard. Like. At all. Sure you feel like you are diffusing a bomb when you put your CPU in, but that is the ONLY remotely hard part. |

@poni
You still need some sort of instruction or guidance when building one. |

@Shov You can read the instruction manual too, if thats your kinda thing.
Point being, does it matter you need a quick youtube tutorial? Not really, actually when you think about it. A few extra minutes never hurt, and once you learn it for the first time you have it down pact.
Worthwhile knowledge too, especially if a part in your PC fails. |

Easiest part is inserting the ram.
I think the hardest is water cooling. |

I found the easiest part to be installing my hard drives.
And watercooling is just a bunch of planning. |
