My Logitech M570 ($50) is starting to crap out on me after only a year and a half of use. Read that it's common for this model, as apparently Logitech forgoes the use of copper in the mouse switches and that causes them to die much more quickly.
So, I decided to look at other mice. There aren't any other thumb trackballs that really appeal to me, so I figured I'd go with a finger trackball. Got used to the forward and back buttons on the M570, so I'm going with the four-button Kensington Expert ($75), which seems pretty interesting.
Instead of a scroll wheel, it's got a scroll ring that you rotate around the trackball in the center, and there are four buttons that each take up one corner of the mouse, going almost to the center where the ball is.
It's also wired - and it's a pretty long wire at that - so I won't have to deal with a bad connection when stuff gets in between my mouse and the receiver on the top of my case. |
