I need people to answer these questions to let the Roblox Community know more about human society and what it is doing to ou society.
1. Should governments use the welfare system to encourage people to live within two. parent families?
2. Is it possible to pass effective laws against racism?
3. Do you believe in a high tax economy (e.g. Sweden) which distributes money to education and health or a low tax economy (e.g. America) where people make private provision for good services?
4. Do you have a vision of a better society? What changes would you make if so?
5. And lasty, what do you think are the characteristics of a good member of society?
We need your opinion everyone! All of your opinion counts about what you think of society! This isn't a right or wrong question either guys, we just need your opinions about society....

Maybe if parasites were dealt with, we'd have a better society. (Parasites as in certain governments, groups, and entities.)

1. Should governments use the welfa-
Stopped reading. No.
2. Is it possible to pass effective laws against racism?
Sure, if you limit freedom of thought, expression, assembly, property, etc.
3. Do you believe in a high tax economy (e.g. Sweden) which distributes money to education and health or a low tax economy (e.g. America) where people make private provision for good services?
According to thomas456 this is actually a yes or no question. Well, I say no.
4. Do you have a vision of a better society? What changes would you make if so?
I would make a single-party state and grant it a monopoly on power for maybe 40 years. I would mold my perfect capitalist laissez-faire dream, and then voluntarily abolish the single-party state after the economy had been purged of imperfections (namely collectivists and leeches on society)
5. And lasty, what do you think are the characteristics of a good member of society?
“I swear by my life and my love of it that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine.”
- Ayn Rand
I think this can be a good principle to live by. I would like people to be more individualists, responsible, motivated, etc. Of course, I can't change human nature and obviously there will be people who don't want to subscribe to those principles. They would be the main targets of the single-party state I mentioned earlier, after collectivists.

I hate the Nordic Model. But we should tax the rich more!

Described in other threads.

1. Should governments use the welfare system to encourage people to live within two parent families?
Welfare is good, but more should go to the sick, bereft and unfit for work rather than people who don't really need it (they need training and education provided, not money). I'm not sure what I think of this, probably not because of teh reasons some people don't.
2. Is it possible to pass effective laws against racism?
Yes. The act they passed in 2007 works okay, against inciting public hatred and using racist language. It still obviously happens, but its the best balance they could get :).
3. Do you believe in a high tax economy (e.g. Sweden) which distributes money to education and health or a low tax economy (e.g. America) where people make private provision for good services?
High tax economy. Maybe not as much as Sweden, but quite a bit.
4. Do you have a vision of a better society? What changes would you make if so?
Provide more help to the sick and elderly and do more to help the homeless find shelter and a sustainable source of income. Have tougher punishments for crime, but ban the death penalty in countries where it exists. Remove Govite education policies and TeachFirst, go back to standard examinations, encourage practical work, computer work and coursework. Reform benefits so those who need it recieve it and those who don't get help finding work. People who earn obscene wages should earn less but nevertheless what they deserve, lower retirement age. Scrap bedroom tax :).
5. And lasty, what do you think are the characteristics of a good member of society?
Open minded and willing to give to the less fortunate, non judgemental but questioning. |
