| Sea colonies. Such as Kamino in star wars, establish sea colonies which can live off of fish and algae farming. It would work well if supply ships come along with building materials once in a while. I think it could work, what's your potential solution? |

| What happens when we run out of land for these colonies? Or when conditions become so over-crowded there that it is hard to live? Or when unemployment rates go sky high because, corporation/businesses don't need that many employees? |

| We won't run out of land for over four centuries if you ask me. 2/3 of the Earth is water. |

| Well, there's a cost to everything. And despite the discrepancies, the colonies idea might actually not be a bad one. |

99% of the humans borns in developing countries, how could they afford living on one of these colonies? Or do you mean these sea colonies over the water out of burnable material, full of slums in Vietnam? |

| As themycro stated, it'll sort itself out. Either WW3, a superbug, or some mass genocide of some sort. Not that I want this, but that it's more than likely inevitable. Or, you know, overpopulation isn't that serious of an issue. Depends I suppose. :P |

| Well, last I checked, when you take into account that the entire human population could be put, shoulder-to-shoulder, into the city of LA, (SF? One of them western ones) nah, not too serious. |

| inb4 greenhouses, artificially created food. right now food is massively over produced, so much so that the government has to shovel large amounts of subsidies in to the farm industry to stop farmers from over producing food so the value of food doesn't plummet and cause an agricultural depression |

This was posted here just a few days ago... ----------------------- Running out of food is not. According to the study in 50 years countries like Africa will have even less food. Due to population growth. As food production is not keeping up with it. |

Causes of hunger are not overpopulation but:
Poverty War Natural disasters Over exploitation of the environment Poor agricultural infrastructure
There is currently enough food on this planet for everyone to be well fed (and enough water to be well watered) but because of the above problems it is hard to get food and water to people in places like Africa or for them to grow it themselves |
