I'm basically building a prison, and in it there are 8 cells. The prisoners spawn in a cell with a knife. They can do two swing animations and throw it. There are also the Guard Patrol, which are guards roaming the prison. On the other side of the hall where the 8 cells are, there is a little glass window with an office chair behind it. This is where the Cell Monitor Guards will sit and watch the cells. All guards will get a baton and taser. Since the room is very small, there are 8 seats and a monitor screen in it. Anyone can sit on a seat, and the number indicates the cell number. They can select the camera tool, which will give them a first person view from one of the cameras in that room. They can cycle which camera they are viewing with Q and E. There will also be a cafeteria, etc and more teams.

Also, I'm thinking of the guards having a tool that when the prisoners are touched with it, it teleports them to a cell. Should I add it or just when the prisoners die they respawn back in their cells?

Perhaps make "Cuffs", that make the guard walk the prisoner back to their cell.

If it's going to be smaller cells, you truly only need 1 camera per cell. 2 if you're going overboard, so switching cameras would be really unneeded. What you really might consider doing is just 1 monitor, and then you can swap through ALL the cell cameras.

Perhaps also make visiting, and a new visitors team.

Each room is going to hold two prisoners. I have five cameras for each cell. One on each side of the door, and one robloxian height, then one bottom-bed height and one for the top bunk bed. I'm going to try that out though, sounds MUCH easier. Also, what do you mean by make the guard walk the prisoner back to the cell? Will the make it so they can't equip weapons?

This is a little bit harder to script, but what I mean is you would have to touch the prisoner with the handcuffs. Then, the prisoner cannot equip weapons, and is forced to follow the guard back to the cell. You could make a script force them to follow the guard, or make them do it of their own volition though.

Alright, I'll try it but I can assure you I will fail. I'm a horrible scripter. I appreciate your suggestions though, I'm going to use your one camera per room plan.

Is knife for the prisoner too un-realistic and OP? They are two-shot knives and the prisoners start with them. Should I instead make a weapon storage room they can sneak in to?

No, but you should make it so that when a guard dies, he drops his immediate Backpack and tool in hand. Also, you should make the cuffs so that they weld the player to the cuff, and their walkspeed is 0. Prisoners should be able to beat down the guards with their fists so as to get batons etc.

What you could also do is have an armory system, where prisoners start with basic weapons, such as knives, and they can raid the armory to get guns and stuff. It makes the best of both systems, and adds an element of challenge and a goal for the prisoners and guards.

That was what I was thinking, that there would be a gun storage not far from the cells and prisoners could sneak guns but until then started out with a punch tool, which does 33 damage per hit.

WOAH! Talk about OP! It needs to be around math.random(7,10)! That's way too much for a starter punch tool(Unless each prisoner is the FREAKING INCREDIBLE HULK)

Alright. The place thumbnail shows the prison layout, so where should I put the sheriff's office (where sheriff can control the doors for lockdowns) and parking lot? I was thinking of putting it at opposite end of the courtyard but I'll have to resize the baseplate.

And for storage I'm thinking of guard staffs all having a key for the door and you'd have to make sure there was only one guard when you beat them to death (nametags are hidden) and then took the dropped key to get armor and weapons.

Maybe a file to use to wear down the bars a bit? I don't know, but this sounds awesome! I am all for this because I think this is an awesome idea which could provide hours of entertainment as long as it is done right! Good luck!

I believe it is a warden, not a sheriff, that controls a prison. Am I right? I can only say good luck, cause I do not have any ideas to throw your way.

Making storage room into confiscated weapons room, it's a room with lots of crates and a garage door. There is one crate with a pile of fake weapons and if you touch the brick it gives you a murderous knife and m16.

Thinking of having a prison van with 2 seats per van and there will be 4-8 of them, and maybe some patrol cars for escaping prisoners (they will have a car they can steal). Also how should I make the visitor spawn? A little town containing a bank, house, etc?

have a way for the prisoners to escape the cell whether it be a window that u can break or a vent in one of the cells that u can go through
