Actually, you can have fire in space. Things such as thermite and gunpowder will burn in space due to the fact that the reactants contain the oxygen they burn within themselves. |

Actually, come to think of it, I think they're doing experiments with fire on the ISS. Of course, that's different from being in the vacuum of space.
