Well, this was proven a few years ago but when you time-travel, you supposedly go to a timeline that is alternative to our own...unless you are travelling via space. (going so far back that 10 years is 1,000 earth years)
I had to get this off my chest.

Wouldnt the odds be much greater that we are IN one of those alternative time lines?

@OT
I guess so but then again, there are millions of Alternative Timelines, infact I'm creating a parallel/alternative timeline writing that and from that it spans more.
I'm just going off what Scienists have discovered though, if I was in the future and had a Time-machine in front of me, it would make more sense. I think it goes to an alternative of YOUR universe's timeline. |

I hate responding to trolls but eh.
Timetravelling already exists. If I went far enough in the galaxy and returned ten years later, 1,000 years would of past in Earth Years. (as said before) |

| thats not time travelling you idiot. you have not left the present and gone to a different time realm. there is simply a variation on how time passes |

@Apsonditius
"time realm"
Wow and I'm the idiot.
"You have not left the present"
But you would have, the time would of passed dramatically different between the People in 1,000 years old and the Space crew. Therefore time-travelling.

Or maybe you just go backwards in time but don't exist until you reach the destination on your own timeline.

@apsonditus
No, you are time-travelling because you are not in the same present as before. Say I went in the year 2031 and I came back in 2041, time would of progresses massively forward and into the future, therefore, time-travelling.
I would say it isn't time-travelling but it is the closest thing that physcists have come too. (Well, other than that experiment when they sent the message from 1 second in the past to another person.)
The definition of time-travelling is "hypothetical transport through time into the past or the future." btw

no its not time travelling
skipping through time into the future is time travel
time moving forward at a different rate is not time travel because you are not skipping through time. yes the earth ages quicker but everything still happens with you in existence. you go on the path from point a to point b just like everyone else but at a quicker rate |

Did you read what I said, I just agreed with you.
As far as we have come, currently, we can only "time-travel" one second into the past but it hasn't been with big situation. (I used the message as a example.) |

I still dissaproved you saying time-travel isn't possible. It has been proven, along with experiments that are successful. |

ok aps a bit hostile lol
my honest opinion that what happens happens and that time does not exist and is not something that can be manipulated in any way
the only reason we have given values to time is that in our race's past we needed to know when to harvest our crops and when to plant and what not. i think we have just added so much infrastructure to the idea of time that we have given the common misconception of thinking that time could possibly be tangible
sorry i looked for your sources but im not watching a documentary and i looked for the other thing and nothing came up :P |
