| Him coming out as one of (or the first idk) openly non straight pro player is a pretty big deal though. I mean geis are waaayyyyy more accepted now vs like 15 or 20 years ago but they're still pretty discriminated against |

| Then it gives other players and new players and young kids and junk courage to be like "ayo i ain't gonna hide who i is!" |

He was not the first, Robbie Rogers was. Second, he's only famous because he's g4y. He's not a great basketball player, and if I were him I would be mad that I'm more famous for being g4y than I am for actually playing basketball. |

I totally understand where you are coming from, but I think it's also a good thing that things like this happen. I mean now that so many people are coming out, it makes it so much easier for kids, teenagers, and adults to come out too. Know there is so much support for these people that it's becoming much more common. It's a good thing. Also, nobody would care if you are christian becuase 31 % of the world is.

How does it give people courage?
If anything it just proves that it's going to overshadow your actual sports career. Have you ever heard anyone say, "Hey! Let's go watch the ____ game, I heard the Nets and Jason Collins are playing in town!" |

It takes courage to admit your GrAY because you get discriminated against. No, because I don't live in a basketball city. |

I never assumed that at all in what I said. I don't get where you got that from. |

| So by your logic, it takes courage to show my face in Mississippi because I'm black and I'm going to get discriminated against? Should I get praise for that? |

Wow this, whenever I start bashing on Collin's basketball ability people get offended and start saying stuff like "He's GREY"
Who the hell cares? Sports is about sports, not about who you like or your religion. That's why I didn't watch ESPN for like 3 weeks. |

Exactly Camo. That's the point. He's famous for what he does and he shouldn't be. |

How does it give people courage to admit they are g4y? If nobody came out then everyone would feel like they would not be accepted, now it's common and more people feel more comftorable about it. Dude, use your brain please.

And also do think you shouldn't get all this fame for being g4y but a little time in the spotlight will do you fine... But you shouldn't be basing your skills and things off of that fact of who you are.

| I think it's cool because he knows if he comes out he could lose fans and get harnessed and stuff and he still does it. He's not afraid to tell everyone who he really is |

So then whats the problem with that? Let people be his fan, if they don't like the way he plays, then they won't be fans of him anymore. I don't see why you even need to argue about it aswell.
