So, the killing of German Officers and soldiers of WWII in America was not a technically legal thing to do. The soldiers and officers were following military orders which were the right thing to do. They were commanded to do what they did yet executed. That is against the law of the time due to the ex post facto law. This law says that a person can do something that later becomes a crime but they can't be punished for it as it was done before the law was made. So at the time following military orders to round up and kill many wasn't illegal. So they Americans shouldn't have killed them. So, the Germans shouldn't have been killed. gg America What happened was politically incorrect. |

The soldiers or the party leaders?
Soldiers just chose to fight for what their leaders told them was true. |

| "soldiers and officers were following military orders which were the right thing to do" What you're saying is if you were in the military and your insane commanding officer ordered you to murder dozens of people you would do it? Human nature prevails when told to do something inhumane unless they believe the inhumane thing is right. |

| I think people should watch documentaries and german Ww2 movies. It shows the perspective of the soldiers, and it's kind of sad too. |

@Rager
"Soldiers just chose to fight for what their leaders told them was true."***
Americans do it in the Middle-East all the time, and the Middle-Easterns weren't blamed for the downfall of America.
The leader of Germany in WW2 highly emphasized that it was the Jewish who brought about the overall depression and economic devastation to Germany. The Germans, eager to place blame, took the bait. A lot of people didn't believe it, but many of the soldiers that joined the military did so because they wanted revenge on an enemy that, while innocent, was painted with red cross-hairs.
Simple enough? |

This logic could be said from both sides. It's obvious it's not the fault of the soldiers as much, as they have to follow orders.
You could be a german saying the same thing about Germans killing Americans, even though Americans are told to do it by their leaders. |

@Para The soldier was meant to follow the orders of his leader. |

| I think it was a theoretical scenario, if all those factors were able to be met. |

@Yeller I know it was theoretical but I was only saying why it can't legitimately happen ever. |
