I've been thoroughly impressed with my alienware. Almost a year old now and I've never had a single issue with it. I've never had a crash, it has been able to handle every game I've thrown at it, and the Alien command center customization tools are really cool to play with.
I mean I probably could have built something cheaper, but I think when you buy a quality computer you've got a little assurance as well. All it takes is a single short while you are building, a little static electricity buildup, and your cash is wasted with no service or warranty. Kinda scary I think. |

I feel bad for your debit/credit, Gordon.

I was watching Resident Evil 4 gameplay on my alt. Thirty minutes later all of the ads I got were related to chainsaws.
I watch Nascar races and gameplay, so lately I've been getting a lot of ads for Daytona 500 #88 Dale Earnhardt Jr. gear.
Though about twenty minutes ago I got one related to the #16 Ryan Reed Nationwide car and a fund its sponsoring. |

@Gordon I know how to build computers and I'm not stupid, so I won't be building this PC on a static surface, It will be built on an "earthed" ground, or a ground that's not static.
Parts, varying and varying, have warranty's with them. like the brand new Core i3 processor will have a warranty, and if I have a screw-up with it, I can just send it back to Intel and they'll give me a new one.
It's not as scary as you think, Gordon, Building PC's are very simple and it only takes about an hour of time to do.
Alienware's are kinda good, but my PC will be entry level and just like the Alienware you have, my 400$ Gaming rig will be just as good and will be able to run just as fine.
That's pretty much all I have to say for now, but that's what I think of the situation. |

| I've got a Core i7, which I've got to assume will perform better than a Core i3. What made you go with the i3 as opposed to an i5 or i7? |

@Gordon Dude, you got it all wrong. Core i3's is about as good as an i7 Core i7 only has 2 more cores, and most games only need 2 cores as opposed to 4.
and I'm on a very tight budget here, that's why I'm going for the Core i3 and I found a new one for cheap at 120$
if I can an i5 for 30 dollars more, I'll take it in a heartbeat. |

@Gordon and sentin I found a core i5 for only 50 dollars less new, so I will be going for that.
Intel Core i5-2380P Quad-Core Processor 3.1 GHz 6 MB Cache LGA 1155 - BX80623I52380P

"Core i7 only has 2 more cores, and most games only need 2 cores as opposed to 4."
Couldn't be any further from the truth
Games can only utilise so much of a core, so it jumps to the next core and the more cores there are, the better it tends to be, now in each core lies some specifications so that more cores can handle some, so some dual cores can be better than some 8 cores, while in theory, 8 cores will perform better than quads.
Go for quad, trust me.
