Yeah, but you can only work 18 hour weeks from September until June, then 40 hours. |

in the us, the federal minimum age is 14. some states (like mine) have an age as low as 12, but all federal statute takes precedence over state laws. in most states, the possible positions you can do at 14 are extremely limited, if any. i wouldnt bother sending in an application to anywhere until you are at least 16. even if it is legal for you to work a certain position at under 16, employers will probably still not hire you.
in the state of Georgia (where I live), if you are 14-15, you can only work for 3 hours on a school day and 8 on a non-school day. obviously, you cant be scheduled for work while school is in session and your weekly hour total cannot go above 40. if you are 16, the schoolday hour threshold is increased to four. what positions you can fill are extremely canned to very menial work until you turn 16. you can only fill more risky jobs and ones that involve driving until you are 18. |

| The laws are the same here in Tennessee, but I don't see the point in not trying. |

You got a job at 14? But McDonalds?
Man, I'd love to get a job at 14. Maybe at the local gym or something. |
