Hello Esteemed Board Members,
I wanted to take this opportunity to address the new positions within the Board and the main duties of the Board. I ask you to read this message with a careful eye as I think you will find it helpful. It is important that you follow and demonstrate what is said in this message in your daily actions with Kestrel.
Firstly, it is my understanding that the Board has adopted new positions (ie. Director of Executive Assistants, Director of Supervisors, etc.). Word of warning, when Chairman Magicalbeakz and I first tried to implement ranks within the Board we found it to be constricting and inefficient. Please don’t let this discourage you from continuing on with your ranks. If you can make it work while proving activity within each position, I will support you in continuing. I fear that certain positions will be lacking in their duty which would have a scarce end. Though, once again, if you can prove to me that your Directorship Positions will work and function properly, I will be in full support of its continuation.
Secondly, I wanted to address the literal leadership within each Directorship Position. I want to make one thing really clear: While you’re technically superior to the ranks you are place to represent, you’re NOT their direct boss. Corporate Officers are their direct managers. Board Members represent their respective rank. For example, if I was the Director of Customer Service, I would go to Home Store to observe and question employees about how we could improve our customer service and employee integrity. I will be disappointed to see an individual director position make a decision solely by himself.
Lastly, in a Corporation the Board of Directors takes a democratic approach to implementing and deciding policies. This means that no Board Member may act without the consent of the majority of the Board. Board of Directors, you’re a team and you need to work together. From Chairman to a Regular Member, you’re to work together and not act solely. In some cases, DrReli or I may allow for you to make an individual emergency decision. Otherwise, things such as appointments, policies, rules, promotions, and other Board activities are to be the matter of the Board in its entirety.
