Game Developers should have a Global Server Message system for their games. This is something that appears to every player in all servers. There will be a spot for this in the configure place section. It will say "Global Message". It will have the layout of sending a PM to a specific player. There will be a Title and Body to the message. This will help game developers notify there players that there may be a shutdown or huge update being implemented currently. This will help players get the memo while also still being in the game. When the message is sent there will be an exit button to close the message. To prevent spam, there will be a 10 minute cooldown until you can send another message on that game.

"Can already be done through scripting. No support." If the suggested feature can be scripted, but seems important and useful enough for everyone to have, then I believe that ROBLOX should try to implement it instead. Support. |

@DataStore
What's more convenient, having to script this or having something easier at your use? |

Ignore Data. "Scriptable" isn't a valid response. If it is more convenient, then support.

| Support. Not even sure how you would script this, since you would have to type it outside of the actual game so you can warn players that you will be shutting down. |

| It's not Scriptable, not for a unique message going off synchronised. You could set it to go off at a certain time it the Dev would not be able to configure it |

| I get what DataStore is exclaiming, but if there's any way to make anything more efficient, then I think it's worth it. |

Also, I want to expand on my past post.
I think what Sky was thinking was that if you could send a global server message without being in game, and change and edit it without being in game.
You can do this on many other games that support this like Minecraft. |

@3Kun, and anyone else stating it's not scriptable: It truly is. What angle do you want to take? InsertService? MarketplaceService? HttpService?
InsertService's "LoadAsset" method allows for you to load your own models into your own game, even if their offsale. Therefore, you would have a script in a game systematically checking if the asset has recently been updated and if it has load the asset, and read the StringValue.
Alternatively, you could use MarketplaceService and the "GetProductInfo" method to read off of a description of a model - if it's nothing, don't display anything. If it's not nothing, display the message until it's removed. Easy, and has no caching problems unlike InsertService.
Now, if you'd prefer a more complicated way you could create a website which your game "pings" every once in a while, to see if there are any new messages that you've posted in a queue. Seeing as you can do 500 requests a minute, per server, you could quite easily check that website once every second and still have 440 requests left.

| DataStore. With some coding you can easily sync the servers together :P |

What you want to do is use marketplace service and make it popup a message saying a update has came out once the game has been updated. OR you can use httpservice and send info from a website to all servers and have ti telling all players an update is coming out or is coming out very soon. :P
The end. :D |

No.
1. You can already do this, it's called "MESSAGES" 2. You can use GUIs 3. This is very easy to script/make. 4. cause i said so (jk) |
