I know C# is the "modern language" but C++ is still widely used. I just started learning C++ and you know, the first lesson sticks on you. But before I continue learning C++ I need to know if its worth it.

More applications are written in C++ than C#, C++ is modern, well supported, and cross-platform.

They can be compared, they work to make the same applications.

"C++ > C#" I really hate how everyone says that but no one actually provides and points and/or arguments to support that statement.

C++ is C + 1, which would seem to indicate that it is a number.

C++ is a general purpose OOP language while C# is pretty much a Microsoft only thing. It's similar to Java and some programmers like it better than Java.
but they're uncomparable |

It depends on what you're doing. If you're writing a graphics engine that needs to process 10000 objects 60 times a second, obviously use C++, but if you're making something like a text editor, C# is more than fast enough, and nicer to use than C++

C# is also used in make pretty much anything on the PlayStation Mobile platform. PSP, PSVita, and I believe certain PS4 apps can now be written in C# (not confirmed). Xbox 360 also supports XNA.
Also, you can compile almost any .NET application for Mono, and limited Wine functionality. You can even compile it for Android with Xamarin.
Now, if you morons would actually do your research on a language, you might actually make some sort of sense in what you're posting.

C++ and C# are both great languages. One is not better than the other, only prefered over. Though, if one knows one of the languages, it is recommended to know the other.
