Sorry for the excessive amount of characters.
How the game works: In the regular season, in the interest of time, game is first to 5, or 20 mins, whichever is first. If the game is tied after 20 mins then 2:30 OT and then Shootout, which is 3 shots each, alternating, and if it's still tied then sudden death shootout. [PLAYOFFS] In the playoffs, there are 3 periods of 10 mins. At the end of the 3rd period, the team with the most goals wins. If the score is tied, then a 2:30 OT period is played, if still tied then the game goes to a shootout.
[START READING]
The game is played with 1 player on the ice less than the team with the least players (So if one team has 3 and the other 5 then it's 1v1 + goalies, if one has 4 and the other 5 then 2v2 + goalies etc) & all teams are expected to bring 3 players, if they don't then the other team HAS to loan them 1. If a team only has 1 player then forfeit, if 1 team only has 2 and the other has 3 then the faceoff is postponed.
The whole game is played with the home team's choice of puck and ball.
Outdoor rinks are not allowed, except when permission is given.
If the rink surface is uneven, so that a puck will not slide cleanly across it, the match will not be held there.
[REFEREE INFORMATION- READ IF YOU WANT TO REFEREE]
All referees should write a match report of the game/ record and upload to youtube. A report should have: Penalties given (TIME, to who, what type and WHY) Goals scored (TIME, who scored, who got assist 1 and assist 2, what type (powerplay, shorthand, even strength, empty net, penalty shot)
[PENALTIES AND TYPES- APPLIES TO ALL PEOPLE]
Minors- 1 min, ending on goal against [NETMINDER DOES NOT SERVE THESE, A TEAMMATE MUST]
Delay Of Game (Deliberate Delay, includes repeated faceoff violations)
Netminder playing past centre line (getting a penalty, touching puck) (If the Netminder gets a penalty it is served as a double minor).
Too Many Men- Referees can be as loose as they have to play the puck or interfere in any way, or as strict as you were on the ice for a second, too many men.
Interference (Blocking an opponent)
Music being played during play (called against home team, not called in the final)
Majors- 2:30, NOT ending on goal against
Btoolsing the puck.
Misconducts - 5 mins, no penalty kill, but player stays in box even if goal scored.
Abuse of referee (Swearing at them, or abuse like you're an idiot ref) (Referees get discretion of how strict they are with this.
Admin abuse (tping players away from play/killing them)
Game Misconducts (Player out for rest of game, referee can kick/ban/crash at ANY time)
2 Misconduct Penalties
Player leaving penalty box before penalty expires (exception is when the penalty timekeeper makes an error and lets the player out early, in that situation.
Match Penalties (Player out for rest of game, referee can kick/ban/crash at ANY time & 2:30 penalty kill not ending on a goal)
Severe admin abuse (Kicking/Banning/Crashing anyone without permission). [NOTE] If the person abusing is the place owner, match will be forfeited.
Goaltender going to penalty box for a minor.
Penalty Shots.
Killing/tping away a player on a breakaway, btoolsing puck on a breakaway. (Penalty GOAL if on an empty net)
Forfeits- Crashing/kicking/banning all, unadmining the referee, severe admin abuse when place owner.
[LEAGUE SYSTEM] Teams play each team once away, once home in the league.
[OTHER RULES]
The EPIHL uses the crease rule, so the puck must be in the crease before an opposition player's stick or skate or NO GOAL.
If the puck is near the goalie then (s)he can say c to indicate cover. This stops the play immediately, but the goalie cannot do this when the puck is behind the goal but not next to the frame.
If the puck lags through the goalie NO GOAL.
If a referee is not correctly calling penalties he may be replaced.
Playoff system: At the end of the season, 1st place wins the league trophy and the playoffs start- 1st plays 4th, 2nd plays 3rd over 2 legs, the higher placed chooses to play at home in the 1st or 2nd leg. The winners of each semi final play each other in the final, at a neutral venue.
All players must have their jerseys, (both home and away). |
