| Nothing. You have no idea how that'll change the future. Maybe it'll be a better place. Maybe saving our buddy Franz will spark an even worse conflict a couple years down the road. |

| To be honest, if it weren't for Hitlar, I may have never been born. Chaos theory is crazy like that. Even if, let's say, I went back to the past and I killed a butterfly. It could change the course of history for good. |

fine ill add a clause
you still exist even if history changes so that you were never born
you just choose 1 point in history where you think it went wrong and change it for the better or make so it never happened at all |

No, still chaos theory here. Even if I went back to save a butterfly from its death...
Let's say I saved the butterfly. The butterfly goes away, fluttering about. He lands on Gavrilo Princip's shoulder, which would not have happened if I let the butterfly die. It distracts Gavrilo Princip, and he doesn't realize that Franz Ferdinand just passed him. Archduke Franz Ferdinand is not assassinated as a result. You know that everything from there is going to go in like a million different paths. It's not just a single chain reaction, it's a bifurcation, it would totally change everything we have today. |

| Well it's more than one bifurcation of course. I used the word wrong. It takes more than two paths. It will take myriads of paths. Maybe my best friend wouldn't have been born as a result. Maybe a cure for cancer would have been found if I saved that butterfly. |

| preventing his assassination might have prevented world war 1, but that would in turn have possibly prevented world war 2 which would set us back at least 30 years in technology |

| If we had killed Christopher Columbus we would've never discovered America and then the Netherlands wouldn't have started the slavery. That would cause Nelson Mandela not to get popular etc, and yeah. |

I wish.. I wish that I could still have free school milk because Michael Foot got elected and we had good Labour governments past the period of Thatcher. And maybe we could have free hot cross buns too :).

@TheRealCommander
No Christian Aid, Barnabus Fund, Salvation Army, organisations such as CURE International, dramatically contract Tearfund etc. You probably lose quite a few lives. I guess you're right, though. Salem witch trials would never have happened, LRA, so on. But if god turns out to be real then that might just outweigh evrything xD. Jesus should have been more clear about.. not burning old ladies, though. Some of the older books are a bit confusing. |
