Alright, so I'm one of those guys that actually reports people swearing on this game. And often times it is a bit frustrating to have no idea whether it actually does ANYTHING or not. - Which I still don't know :| - I suggest adding a feature that sends you a message when your report gets processed, informing you of what action has been taken. - Bonuses of doing this... 1: Would reassure people that reporting is a valid way to combat rulebreaking. 2: Would put to rest all doubts that the report system doesn't work. 3: Would encourage reporting of people swearing/online dating/etc. 4: Encouraging reporting would insure a cleaner game, as the chances of getting caught would rise. 5: Would comfort parents to know that such things ARE IN FACT DEALT WITH. And probably more I haven't thought of, but those are the main ones. - Now, I understand that this suggestion may not be popular among some Robloxians (a VAST minority, but still there). - I fully understand that the people displeased with this suggestion will be the ones that are causing the swearing/ODing problem as it is, and are basically fouling up this game, so before you post about "how bad it is cuz I don't like it", understand that you will be recognized. - Thanks! - PS: Keep the ad hominem attacks to yourself, feel free to bring up problems with this suggestion if you spot any, but no personal attacks. |

| Support, although I don't enjoy the idea of having too many PMs from ROBLOX after awhile. |

@mickyy5
That's a good point, perhaps they could add an option to disable it? |

I agree with the guy above me, there should be an option to disable it on the account tab.
I see nothing bad with this suggestion, and many good things rise from it. Therefore, you have my full support.

I support but reporting someone for swearing is a bit too far since people put their age as over 13+ which disables safe chat, so its their problem if they see swear words if their safe chat is disabled, AND those hashtaged or number sign things censor the word out anyways c; sorry for my grammar.
I still support. |

@Workteam - If people could deny that they were swearing, it would just mean everyone would deny it; and the people moderating reports check the chat logs, so they will know if you swore or not. People are liars.
Hypothesistheory - Blaming other people for being able to hear you swear is no excuse to swear, there are children on this game, without safechat (a lot of them) whether we like it or not, so the mature thing to do is to not swear for their sakes.
PS: Not giving you guys personally a hard time, I just disagree with those two statements :) |

| I HATE it when people say reports don't work, or something like, "What are the mods gunna do? Lol." This would actually help, though there are a few tweaks I would like to add. Overall, I would support this idea. |

What is swearing other than the usage of certain words that of which society has needlessly painted in a bad light.
As far as I always knew, sht was another word for poop. Or used as a way to say you made a mistake.
Yes, it can be used is an insult.
But what is the difference from saying you little sht to saying you little poop?
I see no point to hating swear words, or even a point of calling them swear words. Words are words. |

Swear words are a category. Nouns, adjectives. Action words. I agree with this, but I don't unless there would be a separate report section, so my private messages wouldn't get flooded. |

| But it seriously isn't out fault they lied about their age or cant take swear words, why should we be punished for that? If they have a problem with swears, get safe chat. Deal with it. I take my support away. |

Swear words are not their own category....far from it.
They fit in multiple categories and therefore are just normal words which as I said, have been painted wrong within society, |

I'm just throwing this out there right now: This being added isn't going to change reports on swear words, they're already a bannable offense.
All this will do is notify people of what action was taken.
Regardless, swearing is wrong, they're not some "pretty little words" that have been oh so ruined by society, most of them have really, REALLY dirty meanings. And regardless of personal opinion, it is most definitely wrong to be throwing around words like that around children (you will really mess them up, and we've all seen that before, or gone through it).
Their use doesn't really have a good moral justification, sure; you CAN swear, but is really that big a deal to not on this game? Just don't swear on Roblox...
Anyways, this is getting off topic, this is not a debate on whether or not swearing should be legal on Roblox, 'nuff of those threads, go to those, talk about this suggestion here. And Roblox's stand on this topic is firm: No swearing.
And as always, lets keep the ad hominem attacks out of this, no need to make things personal :) |
