You wake up in a room. You are confused as to why you woke up, because it's the middle of the night, and you are a rather deep sleeper. You know that you won't be able to fall asleep anymore either. You swear silently to yourself.
The room is currently too dark to identify anything other than a desk and the light switch. What will you do? |

You walk carefully towards the white blob in your vision that you recognize as a light switch. As expected, flicking the switch turned the lights on.
You are now standing in your bedroom in your pajamas. According to your clock, it's 2:03. Bloody hell. You start to ponder about what you are going to do to kill the time. What will you do? |

You sit down in front of your desk. On the desk is a small handheld gaming device, and a few drafts of a story you are writing, as well as a set of pencils and ballpoints. It's a cluttered mess though. You are ought to put them back into the drawer. On the other hand, you really feel like doing something right now, perhaps work on the drafts or draw something.

You turn your handheld on. It is a somewhat outdated handheld, with a new version already being brought on the market. That said, you have no intention to buy the new one, seeing as the only improvements lie in the design of the casing.
You check the back for game and booster cartridges. The company that released the handheld is known for focusing on innovation, adding a gimmick to each new console released. This handheld can hold two cartridges, one for the game itself, and one for booster cartridges, which enhances the game in a fashion. You usually get a game cartridge and a random booster with each game you buy.
Currently, there are no cartridges inserted.

You open the drawer. No cartridges here, just a few stray colouring pencils. They are probably in your cabinet next to your bed. You store all gaming-related material in the cabinet, like the handheld and your laptop.
It strikes you as odd that the handheld was not in the cabinet, and the fact that the cartridges were removed.
You hear your sister turning over in her sleep. She likes playing on your handheld, and has her own games. She probably just took her own games back to her room.

You already know from past experiences that trying to go back to sleep is a lost cause. You are fully awake now anyway.

It's pointless to ask the games back. After all, they aren't your games anyway. Not to mention that the games she plays are not exactly your cup of tea.
You hear your sister roll over again, as well as groan. A couple of muffled stomps. A soft click.
It appears your sister is awake too now. You hope it wasn't because of you.

I'll accept Levi's previous input as valid.
You walk out of your room, and open the door on your left. Your sister is sitting on her bed, and is rubbing her eyes.

You open your mouth to speak, when the entire house shakes. "Not again!", she yells. She sprints out of her room down the hallway. Probably to the engine room.
It's the second time this week that this happened. The first time, two vases toppled, and you got a few shards in your foot. Your sister managed to remove them, but it still hurts, and you have some difficulty walking around.
You hear a faint rumbling and clanking noises. Yep, to the engine room she went.

You walk further into your sister's room, and search for the games. Opening the drawer of her own desk, you see a few of her games, as well as one of your own. Huh.
You take your game. You cannot find the booster, so it's probably not there.
A loud bang is heard in the engine room.

You go back to your room. You grab your trusty flashlight, in case the lights go out too. There is no need to grab a weapon, or so you feel. The flashlight will suffice in that case. It's heavy, and got a textured iron casing.
As you walk out of your room, you stare out of the window. The moon is nowhere to be seen, but the stars shine bright. Below you are clouds. Your fear of heights kicks in, and you step back from the window.
You head towards the engine room, and enter. Your sister seems to have managed to fix the engine, at least temporarily. You ask her what the problem is.
"It seems I was right last time. The coolant tank is indeed leaking. We've got to get a few spare parts at Clark's, I'm afraid. It'll probably take till dawn, so go and amuse yourself. "
She walks out of the engine room, to the bridge. |
