That's exactly why fast food is cheaper.
You get overweight and need to see a doctor more often for heart problems, etc.
Doctors get more money.
Which is why bills for going to the Doctor are so outrageously high. They get a lot of patients.
America is fked up. |

| In my opinion, the obesity problem is the not the government's responsibility. Government is essential for policies that organize and enforce order in civilization. What a person eats or how much they exercise is none of the government's business. If a person wants to gorge themselves on fried foods and sugary beverages, that's their choice. The only obligation the government has is to educate people on the consequences; not to ensure they don't happen. The weight of a country's constituents does not represent the value of the country, or its government. |

How will it make healthy food cheaper?
It's not like a large fries from mcdonalds being 10 cents more expensive is going to get you a bag of kale 10 cents cheaper. |

@ele
it is the governments problem omg
its is like a social responsiblity to encourage healthy living
not everyone has the opportunity to learn about healthy living and eating and the
government should step in and help |

@Vienna - Please re-read my paragraph.
Encouraging healthy eating =/= REGULATING healthy eating.
In America, everyone DOES have an equal opportunity to learn about the consequences of fattening foods and physical inactivity. It is a legal requirement for all high school students to take a Health class which extensively describes the importance of a healthy lifestyle. That is ALL the government should do: telling people HOW to live healthily, not forcing them to do it. We as humans have an inalienable right to purchase and consume the products of our choice. |

@ele
i read what u said...but i dont agree
government should be involved...and its fine to say that they already do somewhat
but again not all people make it through highschool and not all have parents
who encourage healthy eating...
@go
food is taxed all the time lol
not healthy food...but processed crap is...as it should be and should be taxed higher |
