I find alot of people abusing the fact of names. They snipe good names such as the name "person" or "Guy"
How about those get permanently erased. You'd end up having a good name open again, and we'd have a bigger capacity of name choices.
Just go to the average names group, you'll find them filled with name snipe alts.
Talking about permanently erased, there could be another system for this. |

| Does it imply that anyone that has a good name should be deleted? |

| It implys that everyone sniping a good name and never again uses it should be erased so the name becomes publicly available again. |

@Ultimized
Should we not care about the unconditional threat that ROBLOX has taken upon the user who occupies that name?
This particular user will lose everything JUST because he/she has a name that you want. To my understanding here, you want people to exchange all their possessions so they could make their username available to the public?
And why? A username identifies who you are, and how people can get in contact with you when needed to. Why must you obtain such an illiterate name such as "Guy"? It was not their fault that you never had the chance to take it before they could. It was also not their fault that they decided to quit ROBLOX. These choices were unavoidable.
Plus, I personally see that you have a good name yourself. What gain is there to change that name for something else? |

If a user snipes a name, then never again uses it, such as those people in names groups, they should be erased and publicly available again.
You lose nothing if you never use it. |

| For example, my alternative has the name of EmperorCaktus, and I never use it. If it would be erased and back to public, I wouldn't mind. |

I can assume that these names are tied to your account. So if you were to remove the name, you remove the account itself.
If not, then this benefits any player who decides to replace their name FREE of charge. Or if they don't have the funds to suffice the current pay needed to change names in general, then you'll be forced to leave ROBLOX.
Your move. |

@Frost Doesn't seem true to me, a purchased name is just as much a namesnipe as anything else.
@TheNegitivitron I don't really get you but I'll try and explain it
If you decide to create a name with the name of TheDeadShadowMan with the idea to never use it again, and it'll end up not being used for several years (4 or so years) I think the name should be re released to the public to use again, since sometimes a namesnipe represents your personality. Your name most of the time suggest something of yourself. Mine for instance, I like to get the best of the person, so I decided to get a name with Ultimate, I tried Ultimized and it was still available. But back to the topic, after not being used for years you'll see the account just fading away and not being used, I think this is rather unfair cause the name could be used by some one who really wants the name, and will actually use it. Let me get some examples. |

@ultimized
That's not the point I was trying to make. What happens to an account once their name has been removed?
My last comment was just a bunch of scenarios that could result in this situation. Your suggestion did not clarify this.
I am unknown to how the system works on ROBLOX, but if a player loses their name for the amount of time that they were inactive, then I highly believe that the consequence will be a result of permanently losing your account. Or they could "freeze" the account temporarily, but it's just an example. This person will still be at risk for losing all of their possessions.
I'm simply disagreeing with you because I don't find a reason to do this. I had no particular likeness for the name I chose. Why go through the trouble of taking someone else's name when they had done nothing wrong to deserve this? |
