| Hey guys. I own a Toshiba Satellite C650D. A while ago, I was using it, and it turned off on me. So, I was like "Okay, no big deal, you're having a bad day right." So I turn it back on, and a few hours later it shuts down again. But it won't power back on this time. I tried to put the power cord in and the light that indicates that the laptop is charging did not light up. My dad said it was the motherboard, judging the situation without even dissecting the laptop, and my mother suggested it was the "processor". It's been stuck lifeless ever since, and I even took it apart today - all I found was dust. But, I have not taken the whole thing apart because some pieces are connected to both plates of the bottom of the laptop, so chances are I would annihilate my laptop. If ANYONE could help me find a solution or repair this you would be an angel. I'm stuck on a Windows XP IBM thinkpad and it's DRIVING ME NUTS. :/ |

The motherboard might have stress crack or a Chip disconnected from a socket (From overheating)
Unless you have a computer technician,Bring it to some computer place or something |

It's the motherboard, open your laptop and check it if the motherboard does not have dust or dirt
And if you can, add a fan below your laptop so it does not over-heat |

I had a Toshiba and I absolutely hated it. It would freeze up videos all the time and sometimes the whole computer would freeze and I'd have to shut it down and turn it back on. I just recommend getting a new laptop from a different brand. If it won't turn on, I guess getting a new laptop would be a good option.

| I took the whole thing apart, I dusted the CRAP out of the motherboard xD I put every screw and piece back into place, (This took me two hours -.-) And it still won't power on. No stress crack, and my laptop NEVER overheated. It was a great laptop, my first laptop. I've had it for 3 years now. I guess it just gives out after a while. I actually really liked that laptop. I'm getting a new one soon due to the fact Windows is soon stopping updates and Support for Windows XP and my current craptastic laptop would just die. I hope my new one is as good as my Toshiba. I never had a computer like my Toshiba. It supported everything. It also had an impressive graphics card.. o3o |
