In the new Texas Chainsaw 3D the Sawyer family (which got a lot bigger) died off in about a nanosecond. (Needed more grandpa.) But they were intertwined heavily with the Carsons who Verna was apparently Leatherface/Jeds great aunt or something on the lines of that.
This means that there COULD be more Carsons. |

This is the direction they would be taking if a sequel is ever green-lit it would be cool to see other family members and what they can bring to the plate would also be cool to see some not-so-crazy members of the clan ... food for thought: this could provide basis for our theory that conjoins all of the continuities.
I also want them to explain why Heather suddenly turns to Leatherface's side as well. |

She works with him because the town is just as messed up as the Sawyers. I don't know HOW but it made me feel bad for them.
The sheriff arrives and tells drayton to hand over Leatherface and he begins to comply until the town's angry mob comes. Then they just take no time in burning down the house and sawyers and shooting them to hell.
This is when a guy finds baby heather and her mother who is still somewhat alive. The mother begs for help but the guy just grabs the baby and kills the mother.
This is when they all take stuff from the ashes like Leatherfaces chainsaw and a foot from one of the sawyers. They laugh cheerily and hold up their trophies with pride.
Later on in the movie you see heather get taken into a cop car against her will before she goes all messed up. The cop takes her down to the slaughterhouse where the sawyers used to work.
This is when she is tied up and beaten and "exposed".
Later on leatherface finds her and gets ready to kill her when he realizes shes a Sawyer. He starts cutting away at the rope when hes hit in the head. He then begins to get beaten and abused by the mayor and a cop.
Heather kills one of the cops and gives leatherface his chainsaw. He uses it to force the mayor into a meat grinder. This is when leatherface and heather go home and she begins to make leatherface his food. I assume shes just taking care of him and not murdering with him.
At least not right now.
Opening makes me feel bad for him because drayton simply tells the cop he was protecting his house and family. (Which is true). |

You see, I don't understand this mentality that quite a few viewers have got ... it's quite simple really: The Sawyers are in no way sympathetic. Going by the original film, they were all crazy except The Cook, I think his name was. Slicing and dicing whoever passed through. I'm sorry, but I can't sympathize, with them.
I guess I have to watch it to understand.
Oh, and how was Alexandra's performance? She's the main reason I want to see it, still. And, what do you mean by "exposed" ...?

I agree they aren't sympathetic. But to heather's POV they were. In her eyes her mom was killed by a bunch of townspeople who got just as much fun in killing as the Sawyers.
The first half she was like any other actress. But I love the scene when shes in the cop car. She finds out the cop is the mayors son and she says "So you're a Hartman?" Then she stabs a knife through the barrier in the cop car that divides the seats.
And she yells "Well I'm a Sawyer!" in such a way that I felt like I was watching a female version of the Hitchhiker.
By exposed I mean she had no bra and her button up shirt was unbuttoned showing her chest except the you know what parts because the edges of the shirt were covering those. |

I guess that's understandable to some extent, but wouldn't she hold Leatherface responsible for the death of her friends? He was basically responsible for their deaths I heard that the black guy dies when the van flips over and crap. So, she instantly forgets about that and helps Leatherface?
Maybe she was a little Sawyer to begin, with you know ... Which would be cool as an explanation actually.
I didn't mean to sound like a perv ... was just surprised as I heard this had nothing like that apparently, which is good and all I'm hating seeing most of it in modern horror films. Take the remake of Friday the 13th for example ... =/ |

Heather only had her boyfriend and best friend. Then there was her best friend's boyfriend and a drifter they picked up.
Boyfriend and best friend were having a affair behind heather's back.
Her boyfriend was killed in the car wreck. Her best friend accidently shot and killed by a cop.
The drifter was stealing stuff from heather's house when they went shopping. He was killed by leatherface.
The only innocent one killed by leather was Nikkis boyfriend.
And heather didn't know him much.
And she is very Sawyer. When it cuts to modern days we see her working in a butcher station in a grocery store.
And when she is in her apartment she decorates her picture frames with tiny chicken bones and stuff. |

... Right.
So, how did the deaths look like on screen? Was it worth buying a ticket for? I heard the deaths were a little lackluster.
Also, how would your rank the films from best to worst? I watched the second one yesterday and it was so damn awesome. Cheesy, but likable. I can't decide if it's better than the first one or not. |

The deaths were gory of course. But nothing we haven't seen before.
But I'm glad I went to see it. Some of it was hokey but it was also pretty neat.
I have only seen the first half of next gen and cant remember the remake series
But id say this
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Part 2/Texas Chainsaw 3D Leatherface: The Texas Chainsaw Massacre III/Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation The Texas Chainsaw Massacre Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning
I just love the 90s feel of 3 and 4. |

ONE MORE THING
Does the film have that comedic vibe the first two had? Like it was somewhat chessy despite the horrific situation? Or is it more gritty like the remakes?
Apologies for all the questions, but I can't see it until the DVD release. =/ |

Yeah its goofy in some places but more serious like the first.
Like the way they pick up the drifter is by crashing their car into him at a gas station. |

I dunno, I just came across it and felt the need to necrobump.
I'll have a number nine, a number nine large, a number six with extra dip, a number seven, two number forty-fives, one wit' cheese, and a large soda |
