I'm sure everybody's had the same thought about how Wii Fit Trainer is a stretch for a character, right? She's from a game that was talked about for less than a year, and was really only a part of the game because there had to be a physical representation of what you're doing.
It would be like if Nintendo made a random, default Mii from Wii Sports a playable character.
On top of that, the teaser for her looks like a joke and barely represents anything she could do. Even in the initial trailer for the whole game, you can see what the Villager can do.
I'm just hoping that there's more than the three new characters they've shown off. As the trend currently goes, they add a Pokemon that switches out and keep Pikachu and Jigglypuff (So, Mewtwo to Lucario and what might come next), then they switch the Link clone (Young Link to Toon Link) then they used two characters that don't belong to Nintendo (Sonic and Snake), then they add a new unnecessary Star Fox character (Falco, who acted like Fox, then Wolf, who acts like Fox but is as heavy as Fox was in Melee) and they've added another Earthbound character (Lucas from the officially-Japan-only game, Mother 3).
I'm hoping they make a trend of using Konami and use Simon Belmont as a playable character, as long as they don't turn him into an effeminate anime character like a certain other fighting game with Castlevania characters.
Any other thoughts? |
