I have yet to see a game on roblox that really messes with your head. This is that game.
In this game, you play god, creating creatures from test tubes and Petri dishes, and subject them to cruel tests to see how they would respond. The AI would definitely be a key selling point, since the creatures will respond positively or negatively to all the "stimuli" you give them. Imagine a colder, sharper version of spore, in a laboratory setting.
Creatures and Creature Creation: Each creature has DNA which is used by the game to create an animal and control it's growth. The DNA is stored as one continuous string, which is parsed to create the creature. The DNA has four bases: adenine, guanine, thymine, and cytosine. A creature is created by selecting traits, and then having them parsed into the DNA code. If the player wishes, he can directly edit the DNA although an error may cause errors.
Stimuli: Once the creature is developed, the player must create tests for the organism. Test results yield money for more research, so test often! The level editor is like the Portal 2 level editor, with spikes, flamethrowers, and lots of hazardous materials. The player can stimulate more than one creature, or give them objects to see how they treat them.
Contracts: Occasionally, shady G-Men will show up offering big bucks for a creature that meets their criteria. Feel like this isn't ethical? Don't worry, that feeling will go away after you see the briefcase full of fat stacks! Most contracts have a deadline, and if it's not met then you will lose reputation and funding. You can deny a contract, and continue working with bacteria or accept and work with bear sharks.
Look and Feel: The game should look dark, with the test chambers being grimy and the lights seeming bleak. It should have a dark sense of humor, and the characters should be hypocritical, facetious, and manipulative.
