| No. I only pirate games that I own. I'm also pretty sure people understand that the developers need money to make more games and they deserve the money if you enjoy the game. |

I personally think that a lot of developers are backing out of PC gaming due to piracy.
Just for an example, EA Sports doesn't make anything but FIFA on PC anymore and THQ (when they were active) never made a WWE game since 2002 on PC.

You can, but it's a lot less simple.
The biggest threat companies on Console have is Used Games, which is just as bad and simpler than pirating. |

@Bingo I know that I'm going to start a flame war. But in the economics if you think about it, don't game companies just produce like a million of a game and make all the money selling to GameStop and any other retailer, then just move on to the next game?
I mean I can see GameStop "cheating" a game making company out of $20 or so dollars every time a game came in, but you know.

| GameStop has agressive trade in policies so that people are encouraged to trade a game back in as soon as possible so that used copies can replace new ones. |

...What? Why are you pirating the games if you own a legitimate copy? |

| I don't pirate big name games, and if I do really enjoy the game I buy it afterwords. I usually just download to test it out. |

Own: have (something) as one's own; possess.
His post seems to imply that he still has the copy of the game. |

Maybe you could read reviews? Try out demos if the game has one? You don't need to illegally download the game to "try it." |

a lot of people seem to think this but this is not true: you "own" a game once you buy it.
once you buy a game, you only purchase a license to it. |

| I do read the reviews, and there are some games I could not find demos on. Demo's usually don't show the reality of the game anyway. It's really not hurting anyone if they don't make 20 dollars (including tax) profit on it (which, as I said, I usually buy the game anyway). |

How long do you test the game out for? The first hour? The entire single play campaign? The first 100 hours? |

| It does hurt if they dont make a profit. Video games are a high risk/high investment business. |

| I test it out until I make a decision on if I like it or not. If I do, I usually play until I am able to buy it. |

That doesn't answer my question. How long do you on average play your pirated games for? |

| There is no average, it usually depends on the game. |
