Video settings And no, I don't mean "stretch the bars to your screen size" or "brightness" I mean full video settings Like resolution, shadows, all that.
Some gamers like graphics over FPS. Some gamers like FPS over graphics. Some gamers like a nice balance.

But you could only stretch it to the console's max, then it overheats, causing boom boom, and such.

"But you could only stretch it to the console's max, then it overheats, causing boom boom, and such." Computers don't work like that. When computers get hot, they do the following:
Increase fan speed->Lower the clock of hardware, putting less strain->Shut down if temp issue still exists

"i would quite like a resolution option" a resolution option would be great for those with lower res displays that want higher graphical settings or those with high res displays that want lower options |

"you can set the resolution in the console video settings" would still be a great option to use in specific games imagine having to switch a setting for that one specific game you play every time |

| If I were a game developer I would prefer for players to see things the way I intended, not for them to screw with the settings. |

"If I were a game developer I would prefer for players to see things the way I intended, not for them to screw with the settings." leave recommended settings as default if people screw around with setting it's their fault your logic doesn't make much sense |
