It would be "What's an LMaDer?"
The L is pronounced like "el" and the vowel sound for the beginning makes you pronounce it with an "an." |

'An' comes before VOWELS, with exception to "an hour"
It's confusing for people because "LMaDer" seems to start with "Ell-em-a-dee-er," so pronunciation wise it starts with a vowel. That's why. |
