Your state probably has resources to deal with that weather as its expected in that region.
On the first wave of winter weather we had, the snow came earlier than predicted and everyone was at work or school. All of those such places told people to go home at the same time, which overloaded the highways and caused absolute gridlock. Roads, freeways, and bridges and particular developed a thick sheet of ice. Its hard to keep traction on ice if you are constantly stopping due to terrible traffic and if you are in a rear wheel drive truck where 60% of the weight is still levied on the front wheels. People in Atlanta heavily depend on freeways to go just about anywhere because our surburban towns hate public transportation.
The roads were not preemptively treated with salt and there were no snow plows on standby.
Please check the circumstances before saying "lol the south is dumb it cant even handle snow" |
