Snow approaches by late night as low pressure lifts northeast into the region. We expect two to four inches of snow along Interstate 79, as you climb east into the higher elevations, look for three to seven inches of snow, some locations seeing a bit more. Much of Pocahontas, along with southeast Preston and eastern portions of Garrett, Tucker, Webster, and Randolph counties seeing six to twelve inches of heavy, wet snow. There will be a sharp cut off of snow, with counties near and along the Ohio River seeing lesser amounts, generally one to two inches of snow. Drying out Thursday afternoon as the snow end west to east. Highs in the middle 30s.
If you plan on traveling over central and eastern West Virginia and points east into Maryland and Virginia, expect poor travel conditions. The snow will be the heavy, wet variety which will accumulate on trees and power lines. Keep wboy.com/weather bookmarked and check back often for the latest weather information!
Friday, a weak front drops in with scattered snow shower, some rain mixing in, as highs climb into the upper 30s. Snow accumulation looks light, an inch or two in spots.
For the weekend, mostly cloudy Saturday, some leftover flurries and chilly as highs hold in the upper 20s. Sunday, another front drops in with a few snow showers and highs in the 30s.
Next week is looking warmer with highs in the 40s and 50s! Rain showers return early Tuesday! Have a great night and stay safe!
