| I have played for 2 months now, I like the game, but I am not good at it. Except for the Soldier, Demoman, and Spy, I usually am getting 1 kill and 8 deaths every round, and with the aforementioned 3 classes, I am only getting about getting 6 Kills and 6 Deaths every round. So, could anyone give me any advice? |

Here's some Spy advice cause that's pretty much the only class I play.
(Note I'm not some sort of pro that you see on youtube pulling off stair stabs left and right.)
-Pick disguises suitable for your position. If in the enemy base pick a engi, if near a sniping spot pick a sniper, if you're running to the fight pick a pyro.
-Start with the stock weapons. Use them until you're competent enough with the class.
-Don't decloack right behind people.
-Learn peoples FOV. I find an easy way to get a kill is to stay just out of sight of somebody, decloack from a safe distance then run diagonally, cutting them off and getting a stab.
-Use Illusions, if somebody is chasing you down a hallway do something unexpected, cloak and jump out a window or something. They'll think you just cloaked and kept running down the hallway.
-Don't use the deadringer until you're skilled with the other watches, it promotes bad gameplay.
-Learn where metal is on the maps. It's imperative that you can keep your cloak up for as long as possible. Picking up enemies guns is useful as well.

I am getting good at demoman
If you can't get them on the ground with the grenade launcher just shoot it at their body they should get hit
Lay your stickys in a place someone will step on them
As demoknight just run and attack
"Yo you can't beat the oshawott and emolga gang" |

Since I main soldier, I'll help you out with it.
When it comes to your primary, the stock Rocket Launcher is the best. I personally use the Black Box, however as it has 3 rockets in a clip as opposed to 4, the less ammo takes some getting used to. The +15 health per hit bonus is a major help, however.
For Secondary, you should use the Concheror. +2 health regenerated per second, and a meter that increases with damage dealt. once full, you can activate the buff when you have increased movement speed and health regenerated. Very handy in the heat of combat.
Melee is a toss-up. Most soldier melees are "meh" at best. Stock shovel is good enough, although Escape Plan is useful for running away to replenish health and ammo (The less health you have, the faster you run with it out).
Now, for tactics, they vary from map to map. I usually play 2Fort, and going all-out Offensive usually works very well for me. However, do what you want.
Rocket jumping is an all-map tactic, however, and it's very useful. I can't explain it (I can't even do it that well myself), but oh man, it it good. Launching yourself in the air allows not only for birds-eye potshots, but if you get skilled enough, you can land a guaranteed crit with the Market Gardener (Only gives crits when Rocket Jumping). |

Medic:
Stay away from fighting if you can.
Try to keep everyone overhealed, but focuse on Soldiers, Pyros, Heavies, and Demomen.
Give out orders. A mic will be plenty useful to communicate with your Medicbuddy.
Stay behind your buddy. Yes, use him as a meat shield while you heal him.
Ubercharge.
You get first dibs on Medikits if you are injured. |

No. Heavy is buddy. Spy is spy!!
Of course Spy is Spy. But this Spy is friendly Spy that backstabs enemy medics and engis and wins you the game.
So for the love of all that is holy help the Spy! |

Here are a few tips
>always move (ikr, but so many new people don't do this)
>as for spy mage had a good list, i would use spycicle if you're new because of the fire resistance.
>use stock watch, it does what you need to do, and since i use dead ringer now, i have really bad habits.
>if you're building a class, use weapon combinations that work, like don't use gunboats for rocket jumper.
>positioning, position yourself so that you have an advantage over your opponents, don't be running straight into rockets.bots with a shotgun when they have strafe on helps alot.
>practice makes perfect, tf2 is unforgiving, and 80% of people playing know what they 're doing
>practice on tr_walkway if you want to get stairstabs perfect, stuff like that, even just mindlessley shooting bots with a shotgun when they have strafe on helps alot.
i hope this helped? |

@simon
>tfw you see a new player stand and look around, and fire long afterwards
>getting the habit of using a terrible knife
>dead ringer is master race
>talking about gunboats or rocket jumper
>no really
>it's more like 20% know what they are doing, it's quite forgiving.

the cloak and dagger isn't a great watch
use the stock watch if you really need total invisibility and use the dead ringer if you don't because tbh the cloak and dagger simply runs out too fast and recharges too slowly so by the time you get to where you need to be the other team will have pushed forward or been pushed further back |
