my current opinion on this is they should be allowed due to the fact that your xbox/playstation is not going to pick up a gun and kill someone. The only thing that could kill someone is another person. Also, if parents don't want their kids playing these games and want them banned, don't buy them!
This is for a school project. Thanks guys!

| No. Why are people blaming things on video games all the time? It could of been an anime, a cartoon, or a movie! Maybe it was done on their own will! 😤 It really ticks me off when people blame VIDEO GAMES. It's their fault for relying on it the whole time. 😓 |

Kids often buy games without telling their parents about it, with money that they got for their birthday or for a holiday. When the parent asks them what they bought, they'll just saw "I bought a game".
Murder of innocent people is in the killer's education. If you were told not to kill your whole life, you hurt anyone, not even in a game, and you were always nice because your parents told you to be nice to others, you will probably not kill anyone in the future.
But, if you play violent games, that doesn't make you a killer, but sometimes they can have graphics that are so realistic that they just blur the difference between real life and game world, good and bad, and even if you feel like you control yourself, that doesn't always mean you really do.
It has a lot to do with education, and how your mind sees the death of a game character. When I play roblox, I see it as blocks falling and then rebuilding themselves. There is death here, but it isn't a violent death like most deaths in games that teenagers play. |

People who blame violent games usually blame violent movies and animes too. And nothing is done on your own will, because that thing people call "your own will", depends a lot on your education and what you see in your daily life. If you kill people every day in a violent game with realistic graphics, you don't automatically become a murderer, but it can make you a little more violent, even if you aren't noticing the game's influence.
Other people are the best mirror, if you're afraid that a game or a movie changed your behavior, ask others, they will tell you if you're acting weird today. |

You can play whatever you want as long as you remember that the game has nothing to do with real life and not let it influence the way you behave.
Playing violent games will not make you a murderer, but it can change your mood, and it can make you a little more aggressive, but I don't get why someone would play a game that is pure violence with no goal and nothing to do in it but kill.
Some games help teenagers prepare for army in some ways, but other games help teenagers prepare for a fight, or even start a fight with someone. Next time you play a violent game, ask yourself, "How will this help me in life?" Exclude the "It entertains me" option, since it exists in all the games you play. |

Do you know why violent games aren't kid friendly? They are not kid friendly games because kids take it seriously, and if they have a weapon at home (father's gun, kitchen knife) and they get into an argument with another child, they may make a bad decision and use the weapons in a violent way against someone else.
Kids are more influenced by games since many kids just play games all day, and if the game has realistic graphics, it will only influence their behavior more. Kids make bad decisions too often, and I'm talking about ages 4 - 12 here.
Little kids don't always understand what they're doing and when they're about to do something they often don't think what their actions can lead to. |

| Kids make bad decisions? You don't say? They're kids, they really don't know what to do. (which i'm very sure you are aware of.) |

No, people who blame video games are just afraid the players will take the game world too close to reality because of the realistic graphics. Violent video games can make a kid violent and a violent kid can be dangerous since he doesn't know very well what's good and what's bad yet, and doesn't think what his bad decisions will lead to. |

"Kids make bad decisions?"
Violent games can change the kids' bad decisions from "ruining your day" to "ruining your life". |

Ironic this is. Video games made my young brother go insane. I had to lock up my crossbows in a safe just to make sure he would not do anything stupid with them.

@qd, free will is an actual thing, you have a brain that reasons with things, but you also have the animal part of the brain, which is not fun to let become dominant.
