Firstly, I would like to mention, this might be a little long.
If you are easily intimidated by long threads that are incredibly easy to read and understand, and only take a minute or two to read; I suggest you navigate away, ASAP.

TABLE OF CONTENTS:

#1: The Guide.

#2: Plot

#3: Rules

#4: Character Sheets [Char Sheets are in the guide.]

#5: Q&A [Q&A doesn't need to be looked at, but it should be if you have questions.]
---------------------------------------------------------
<::THE GUIDE OF TENEBRA::>

You can view the guide of Tenebra here.

http://www.roblox.com/Forum/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=123551350

The guide has detailed information about Races, Classes, The Setting, Magic, and other kinds of things.
It'd be a good idea to read a little bit of it before making a character.
---------------------------------------------------------
<::THE PLOT OF TENEBRA::>

In the world of Tenebra, four out of the world's five races sinned against The Master, and refused to repent for their deeds.
Due to this, The Master blanketed the world's skies in pale clouds, forever covering the world of Tenebra in a pale light.
For thousands of years, the people lived underneath these white skies, and everyone that remembered the skies beyond the clouds, have all but dissipated.

One fateful day however, a blue drop of water fell from the sky beyond the white clouds that shrouded the world.
This drop of water landed on a patch of snow, and from it grew a blue rose that appeared to be crystalline.

This was known as the Sapphire Rose.

The Sapphire Rose was a beautiful artifact, and was said to be the key to seeing what kind of sky lay above the white clouds that obscured the vision of the people below.
Soon, four of the five races began to argue over who would get the crystalline flower.
It wasn't long before war broke out over it's ownership.
Once again, four out of the five races began to hurt the world.

Hoping to cease the fighting, a Rawulf monk took the Sapphire Rose and hid it away in his monastery, praying that this would stop the war.
When the armies tried to get it from him, by force or diplomacy, he refused to give it up, saying that it shouldn't be given to anyone, as it had planted greed and hate in their hearts.
The rulers of each of the four races, swore that they would forever hate the Rawulfs for this act, as would their people.
The fifth race, the Rawulfs, had indeed stopped the war.
But it came at the price of no longer being seen as the fifth sentient race.

Even to this day, hundreds of years later, the monastery of the Rawulf monk still sits on the hill just outside of the small town of Hayfield; and it has become an attraction for wayfarers.
Many people want to go inside and see if they really have the Sapphire Rose, but others don't care either way.

It's here that the story begins.
A strange force moves across Tenebra, and chaos seems to be following it.
What they want, is anyone's guess.
Yet what they have, is clear for all to see.

The white sky weeps for the fallen, and the saddened land catches it's tears.
---------------------------------------------------------
<::THE RULES OF TENEBRA::>

There are four very simple sets of rules that players must follow.

#1: Basic Rules.

#2: Character Rules.

#3: Combat Rules.

#4: Equipment Rules.
---------------

BASIC RULES:

1: What I say, goes.

2: "It's not in the rules" is no excuse. See rule 1.

3: If a troll posts, ignore them.

4: If you say you're going to join, you're expected to join.

5: If you DO join, you are expected to actually Roleplay. And not just sit dormant for five weeks or longer.

6: I control any and all NPCs unless you are given permission by me. Attempting to control one on your own without permission will result in a warning. If you continue to do so, it may result in my asking you to leave the thread. You may only control an NPC if permission is given.

7: You Roleplay by story. No making up your own lore, your own places, or anything of your own. Your character is from this land and from this world.

8: Story over Rules. If I so decide that you may not take an action, or an action is taken against you so as to progress the story, or benefit it; there will be no arguments. Whatsoever.

9: In no way, do I have to cater to you or your character.

10: Character Knowledge vs Player Knowledge. If players know something about a certain character, object or place, that the characters don't know about, your character cannot suddenly have a great epiphany about said thing.
Example, if a character is a noble in disguise who is running from their family due to some kind of dark curse, and the player mentions this in his/her bio;
your character may not, under ANY circumstances, make an offhand joke about how maybe they are actually a noble in disguise who is running from their family due to some kind of dark curse.
This is an annoying thing that crops up every so often in Roleplays, and I won't tolerate it here.
Just because you know, that doesn't mean your character knows.
It's not funny, it's stupid.

11: ALL players must make character sheets. No exceptions. This isn't an ISRP. Make a character sheet and wait for it to be accepted if you want to join.

CHARACTER RULES:

#1: All characters must follow Tenebra Race boundaries:

This rule is very simple.
A character cannot go outside of basic Race boundaries unless I give them permission.
What does this mean?
Here's two very simple examples.

First example, a Ylve cannot, under ANY circumstances go outside of it's genetic code; meaning your Ylve character cannot have some "strange" or "special" condition that makes them have darker skin, different hair colors, or strange eye colors.
Every Ylve, has pale skin, grey or silver eyes, and silver or white hair. No exceptions. Period.

Second example, a Rawulf can NOT be a cold, dark and brooding character with no morals or heart.
Every last Rawulf born, has a HUGE sense of honor, faith and kindness. No exceptions.

Basically, it's exactly what it says on the tin. Your character cannot go outside of the Race boundaries, unless permission is given.

#2: All Character Sheets MUST be detailed.

Another simple rule.
You need to be detailed with your character.

One, two or three sentences does not count as being detailed.
Describe your character greatly; describe their appearance, their personality, their bioagraphy, etc. And don't be vague.
The first step to making a good and relatable character, is to be detailed.
If your character has no effort or detail put into him/her, no one will like them or relate to them.

#3: Characters can die.

Characters can, and probably will, die in Tenebra.
If a character dies, that doesn't mean that they are dead forever, or that the player has to leave the thread or create a new character. (Well, unless they want to.)

Characters can be brought back to life through a Monk/Cleric's spells, through certain items, or by the Monks/Clerics of a monastery.

Character death is only decided by the role of the dice, which I will talk about next.
(Note: I have added this feature due to too many Roleplays having little to no consequences for reckless actions.)

#4: Characters are not allowed to come from "mysterious backrounds".

I have seen far too many people make lackluster, half-hearted character sheets, with little to no detail; and then try to use the excuse of "Well, he's mysterious, and I don't wanna reveal anything just yet, so that it'll be a mystery and a big shock when it's revealed!"
Yeah no, if you're not going to put detail in your character, and are going for the "mysterious" route, that means I already know what kind of twist you're going to add.
The excuse of not wanting to reveal anything "yet" is exactly that; just an excuse from a lazy roleplayer.
Mysterious or amnesiac characters are not permitted.
Period.

COMBAT RULES:

#1: "Dice".

In order to make combat in Tenebra 100% fair, I will be using a virtual dice roller to determine the outcomes of actions in combat.
When I say "I will be using the dice", that means I will be the only one "rolling" the dice to determine outcomes, as others could easily fabricate a number to benefit themselves.
In other words, I'm simply taking a precaution to ensure that combat is fair, and that there are no loopholes.
If you don't like this idea, I apologize, but too many people drag out fights by constantly dodging attacks, or blocking them.

#2: Story over Rules.

I like to use the term "Story over Rules" a lot, and the meaning behind it is simple.
If I choose NOT to roll, and simply decide an outcome for a combat action, so as to benefit the story or set up a strong villain; that is my choice, and as such is for the story.
At the start of the adventure, there may be a few of these, fair warning beforehand.

#3: Protected by Plot.

If a certain character or enemy is constantly using the excuse of "Story over Rules", it's because he or she is "Protected by Plot".
What this means, is that this particular character cannot be killed or beaten at the current point of the Roleplay, because the plot, A: Doesn't call for it. B: They are killed or beaten at another point. Or of course, C: There is a specific reason I won't reveal, such as their redemption later on, or not having the right means to dispose of them.

If I give a character "Protection by Plot", I have a reason for it.

EQUIPMENT RULES:

#1: Being Practical.

Equipment NEEDS to be practical.
A good example of what I mean, is simple.
Look up "European knight armor", and "European Longsword".
These are practical weapons and armor.
Any character seen using equipment that is similar or the same as the typical MMORPG/WoW or Kit Rae style of weapons and armor, will be declined instantly. No exceptions.

What does the basic MMORPG/WoW style look like?
Giant swords with curves and spines, along with golden hilts encrusted with jewels, and the blade curves over itself, etc.
Golden Armor with spikes coming out every which way, that looks HUGE and bulky, and would generally be more of a hindrance in reality.
This also means NO bikini-mail, making a character wear that kind of armor would just get them killed by an enemy VERY easily.
ALL characters are required, and WILL have practical equipment.
You don't NEED to be impractical to look "cool".
Because if you're impractical, you won't look cool at all; you'll just look like an eyesore.

#2: Use of equipment.

Equipment should be used properly.
If a character fights in armor, they shouldn't travel, eat, drink or sleep in it; not unless it is absolutely necessary.
Reason being, is because the heat of the sun would bake your character, the rain would rust the armor, the snow and/or cold would cause the metal to retract; and it'd be uncomfortable to wear the armor 24/7 every day of the week.

The same can easily be said about leather, as the weather can also be problematic for anyone wearing leather or leather armor.
Leather shrinks if it becomes wet and isn't properly taken care of.
Therefore, care must be taken when wearing either armor types.

#3: Equipment isn't impregnable.

Armor doesn't make you invulnerable, as armor isn't just one big sheet of metal placed over a person. It has gaps. Meaning it has weaknesses.
---------------------------------------------------------
<::THE CHARACTER SHEETS OF TENEBRA::>

Please refer to the guide for the different character sheets. There are two.
---------------------------------------------------------
<::THE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS OF TENEBRA::>

Q: Can I start out with a "high-tier" weapon or character?

A: No. Each and every character will start out as a novice, unless I give permission otherwise; be they warriors, archers or magic users, they will all start as simple beginners.
This means the starting weapons and armor of characters will be made from copper, ash, and leather, unless of course you don't wear armor.

Q: Can I start out with a magical weapon?

A: Not unless you're a Monk/Cleric or Student. Their staves and rods help them in the use of magic, and could be considered magical themselves, though they don't have any kinds of "bonuses". If you literally mean a magic weapon like those in the guide, then no, you may not. Not unless you are given permission.

Q: I don't like the classes you've provided for me. Can I make my own?

A: No. Pick one of the ones that have been provided.

Q: Do I HAVE to have a class?

A: No, you don't HAVE to have one if you don't want to. But you'd be worthless in combat, and would probably seem more like an unwanted burden.

Q: Does my character's race have any bonuses over another? Or is my race better than another?

A: No. Each race has it's own strengths, and it's own weaknesses. The Beorn may be the strongest race, but that doesn't make it any better than the other races.
The Ylve might be the best at physical combat, but that doesn't mean they are the best race.
The Felpuur may be the most adept at Arcane magic, but that doesn't give them any "bonuses" over a Human.
Your character will reflect you as a player, and will only be "better" than another player's depending on how well you Roleplay.

Q: If I can't pick out my own weapon and armor materials for the start, will I be able to shop for them? And if so, how will I do that?

A: Each of the towns the players visit will have another type of material that they can get. But the moment you get to town, you can't simply run off to the nearest armory and decide that you have a gazzalion Demirine(money), and buy out the store in a poorly written sentence.
In other words, I control the shopkeeper. You do not.

Q: How will money work, and how much do we start out with?

A: Simple, you'll start out with as much money as the detail of your character sheet. More detail means I'll give the character more Demirine.
More detail means a bigger reward.

Q: Why did you make this Roleplay similar to D&D or an actual table-top game?

A: I feel that I can allow more freedom for players this way than any other way; as if I don't apply many rules or ways of making things fair, it would end up as a disaster.
I don't mean to make it seem like a D&D game or any table-top RP in general, but the only way for the RP to truly be fair, is to bring in at least a few minor elements from those kinds of Roleplays.

Q: Is it too late to join?

A: No, it's never too late to join. Tenebra has a GUAG(Get-Up-And-Go) storyline. Anyone can join, and they can join at any time.
(So long as you make a character sheet that is.)

Q: When I join, can I introduce my character right then and there?

A: Well, that actually depends. If the characters are in a fight or "dungeon/crypt", it wouldn't be very subtle to introduce the character right then and there.
Of course if you can actually manage to introduce your character in a very subtle manner whilst they are fighting or in a "dungeon/crypt", then please, by all means do so.

Character Name: Syvia Heartbinder

Character Age: Your character's age. 23

Character Gender: Female

Race: Ylve

Class: Esper

Equipment: A primarily (Dark)steel chest plate with a small golden crest in the shape of a sun, with water pouring from it on the front. Also has a gold reinforcement. She wears angular pauldrons with two gilded swords on them. They’re made from the same metal as the chest plate, and has similar gold detailing. Small gauntlets in the style of her previous armor. Underneath of her armor, she wears a long black robe, with a V-shaped neck. When her armor is on, it covers the chest, half of her forearm, and her shoulders.
When she doesn't think she'll need her armor, she has a fitting button-up shirt and leather shorts, that end just at her knees along with a pair of soft-padded boots.
She wields a 6 foot long Glaive. 3/5th's of the weapons is the metal handle, wrapped in leather. The end of the pole has a blunted counterweight to help with slashing strikes, or to use for non-lethal attacking. Inbetween the pole and the actual blade, is another sun symbol, with solid metal wings extending from it to form a hand-guard. The weapons blade is 2.4 feet long, and is a wide double-edged blade, with a pointed edge for stabbing. Because of the weapons size compared to her, she finds it annoying to put it on it's holder on her back and will usually carry it as a walking stick.

Appearance: Syvia is 5' 9” with a lithe and athletic body type. She possesses a reasonable amount of strength, given the sort of armor she wears, and her preference for melee-combat, That said, she's certainly more dexterous than she is strong. Syvia has pleasant facial features, and nothing terribly remarkable out her.
(There's a large amount of Human-blood in her father, which is where her hair and eye-colour game from.) She has long red hair, comparable in colour to a strawberry. On the left side of her head, her hair is kept tucked behind her ear most of the time. The top and right sides of her hair are swept mostly to the right and left loose. Her long bangs are simmilarily swept to the right, and a hairpin is used to keep it out of her eyes. The end tips of her bangs frame the side of her face.
She has light brown eyes.

Personality: Syvia usually maintains a cheery personality that's supportive of her allies and friends. She can often over-exaggerate both positives and negatives, and both are hardly helpful. She has a measure of pride in her martial skills. When it comes to her mental abilities (Magical, or just her intelligence) she can be very defensive, and arrogant about it, feeling above others that she's obviously above.

Bio: Syvia was born in to a well-off Ylve family (Her father being only partially Ylve.) , and for most of her life she lived comfortably. When her Epser powers start to show, she could barely control it and dictated by her constantly in-flux emotions as a young child. Scared for their child, and for themselves, they find her a teacher to help her control her mind, and her emotions. She's sent to a far off village for her training, where's put through rigorous mental training and given hard physical labour around the village. When her training is finishes, she returns to her family as a much more responsible and changed. The boring and comfortable life-style no longer suits her and with grace, leaves her parents when she comes of age and sent off with a conciderable amount of Demirine. Most of her coin was spent on her armor and weapons, leaving her to rely on taking jobs

Other 1: Dislikes sweet-tasting fruits.

Other 2: idk

Ummm, background, not mysterious, just unimportant, he worked within city's around his home country doing odd jobs and helping people. I didn't think you wanted me to describe his previously mediocre life.

This is like, his life is really just beginning.

(Starting the Roleplay.)

It was a beautiful morning.
Though the sun could not break through the pale white clouds that blanketed the skies, it still shone brightly, illuminating the world, and making the surrounding countryside look like a spectacular sight.

And in this countryside, Hayfield lies.

The small town of Hayfield sits in the center of a large field.
The town is faced on it's northern side by woodlands, and just outside of it's eastern gate atop a large hill, sits the Rawulf monastery.
The beautiful stone and wood monastery is one of the main attractions of the small town, and is usually what brings visitors.
The Rawulfs inside have always been close to the people of Hayfield, and as all Rawulfs are, they are always happy to invite people inside.

Inside Hayfield's circular stone walls, the town itself looks humble. With its wooden rooftops, yew wood walls and calming view of the beautiful countryside, Hayfield has a pleasing atmosphere.

The gates gates of the small town open as the sun rises, welcoming visitors and travelers.
Hayfield is a peaceful place, and everyone hopes that it will last.

Appearance: Aaron is 6'6", two hundred# square, medium build. Black furred. Longer snout than most with dark red eyes. His pitch black fur is accented with streaks of a dark brown color down his back, as well as lighter flecks of blonde around his snout. He is well muscled and quite athletic, having spent his life doing odd jobs here and there.

Personality: Kind and caring, Aaron strives to help those in need and live an honorable life, willing to throw his life away to save a common peasant. With a steely sense of honor Aaron is ready and will lend a hand to any he encounter, he strives to as much good as he can in his life, even going out to asking people if they need help daily.

Bio: Most of Aarons life was unimportant, doing odd jobs here and there and helping others. Until just recently he has decided to set out on a quest to find the legendary sword, Wolfrend. Moving from town to town he developed quite a good reputation as a do gooder and friendly Rawulf, even those who weren't very good thought of him as nice and reliable shockingly.

With the morning sun risen over Hayfield and the gates open, a lone Ylve approaches the town on the main road. She carries a large pack over her shoulders, heavy with her supplies and clothes. Her weapon, a Glaive can be seen sticking out diagonally across her back, held by a holder and a leather strap.

Syvia hurries up to the gate, waiting just before it, expecting a greeting from the towns guard. She wears a white cloth shirt with the top two buttons undone and a pair of brown cloth shorts (changed a bit from the charactersheet. >->) ending just above her knees. Her leather travel boots show the wear expected from extending hiking.
Her bright red hair and eyes show that she's clearly not entirely of the Ylve peoples.

Two guards step in front.
Both of them wear simple padded leather, and are armed with copper longswords.
One looks her up and down, and then speaks.

"You leave your attitude and problems at the gate. Otherwise we'll have to ask you to leave." he says.

It isn't a rude statement, yet carries a hint of authority.

In the distance a lone Rawulf is seen packing what appears to be a large sack, which resides inside is his armor, a sheath is seen hanging at his side containing his longsword, he carries the look of a jolly man, whistling a fair little ditty as he approaches the gate.

"Ah, sure thing! Enjoy your day!" she says with a smile before walking past them. Syvia makes her way to the towns center in hopes she can find "work request" boards or stores that catch her intrest. She has a rather bad habit of spending too much Demirine on unimportant and useless things.

(Kipec, as much as I'd like to accept this, there are a few problems.)

(Firstly, the guide states that Students and Casters cannot use any form of armor. As well, they are only capable of using staves/staffs and slings as weapons.)

(Secondly, the Caster is an Advanced Class, or "High-Tier" class/character. The first question in the Q&A section mentions that all players must start out as a Low-Tier character. Meaning your class would be Student, not Caster.)

(Lastly, you never asked if you could be well known in Hayfield.)

(I apologize for the inconvenience, but I must ask that you clear up these errors.)

A young man enters Hayfield behind Syvia.
He's pulling a cart behind him, and on it are three small deers, and one large buck.

He wears woodland colors, mostly brown leather, and a forest green padded cloth gamberson.
Around his shoulders, are iron pauldrons, and his forearms are covered by leather bracers.
He wears thick black leather gloves, and the yew longbow on his back easily points out why.
The deep brown leather traveling boots he wears are covered in dirt and stains from early morning dew.
His short brown hair moves ever so slightly in the early morning wind, and his blue eyes fondly take in the sight of his hometown.

His brow is beaded with sweat, yet he never complains about his burden.

The young man calls out to Syvia as he slowly moves by her.

"Good morn' to you milady. Welcome to Hayfield." he says.

"Thank you, good morning too!" she calls as he passes by.
When she doesn't find any work boards, Syvia takes a short walk to the tavern to try her luck there. She enters the building, going up to the barkeep.
"Hello! I'm trying to find some work around here. Could you help me?" she asks as she takes a seat at the bar, folding her arms atop the counter.

Hanot strolled through the village tapping his staff in a rhythm.

Tap Tap Tapity Tap Tap

He could not get off the fact that he missed the snowfields no matter how much he taped, every street would bring up bad memories. He wanted to go home, his real home. He headed to the hub hoping he could find what he was looking for.

He walked into the hub looking at the various baskets, food, and leather Inside the hub he had finally found what he was looking for.

Transport.

As he looked at the tall wooden carriage pulled by two horse, one jet black, one a snowy white. The driver was yelling, and shouting to the hub goers about cheap transportation to the snowfields. Of course being humans no one wanted to go, as they look down on the Ylve.

Hanot did not he figured taking a quick trip out of this boring town of bad memories would be in use, he emptied his cloak pockets looking for money.

(Do we ask for money or do we just have it?)
