What server side programming languages would you recommend, frameworks, etc.?
I installed a LAMP set on Ubuntu (Apache, MySQL, PHP), and I can't figure out how to get anything running. Apache simply throws me a 'Forbidden' error. I've done my research, and apparently it's a problem with the default configuration. Configuration file syntax is like Greek to me.
All of this, simply because browsers hate it when I use web workers on file protocol. |

| I had a debian with PHP, MySQL with Apache. That should be fine with everything. People say that PHP's syntax is messed up but I kinda like it. Anyways enjoy running a web server. |

| You probably shouldn't be setting up a web server under Ubuntu unless you use the server build. There isn't really a reason for you to even have X installed on the server, along with you having to setup another user to actually run the apache service in the background. |

Then what OS would you recommend using? Debian, OpenSUSE, Fedora, Arch Linux, Ubuntu Server?
All I care about is that the server has good documentation, and plenty of support available. |
