I know this may be so easy for some people, but I really take a lot in the process and I have a lot of homework, it would be nice if someone gave just 2 simple answers, since I'm gonna take a shower. And, it's my first time doing these problems
1. 3[(20-7)) + 1] 2. 8[(12-5)+ 4] |

disregard my first answer.
1. 3[(20-7)) + 1]
im going to explain this
you take 20-7, which is 13,
then add one to it, since they're both in brackets
you get 14, which you then multiply by 3, since its outside of the brackets

1. 3[(20-7)) + 1] 2. 8[(12-5)+ 4]
Use PEMDAS
1.Parenthesis 2. Exponents 3. Multiplication and division 4. addition and subtraction
1. 3[(20-7)) + 1]
20 - 7 = 13 13+1 = 14 14 * 3 = 42
#1 = 42 2. 8[(12-5)+ 4]
12 - 5 = 7 7 + 4 = 11 11 * 8 = 88
#2 = 88
If there are parenthesis or brackets you must do the problems in them first.

1. 3[(20-7)) + 1] = 40
Why: 3x13 = 39 + 1 = 40
2. 8[(12-5)+ 4] = 60
Why: 8x7 = 56 + 4 = 60

Start with the problems on the inmost brackets, and work your way out like an onion...don't you know about the order of operations, or PEMDAS? Parenthesis, Exponents, Multiplication and Division, and Addition and Subtraction. |

Glaceu was completely wrong, he added before multiplying even though he brought up PEMDAS. -slow claps-

| Yes, I'm in 7th grade, and PEMDAS is confusive, because there are many theories that PEMDAS is wrong, but, it's easy to understand for me, I just don't get the brackets cause I just learned it.. |

| That would be hilarious but I did the problems in the innermost brackets following the rules of pemdas so I did it correctly. |
