Pretty awesome stuff.
A civilized, head to head, evolution verses creationism debate.
I think Ken Ham won, but then again I am biased as a Christian. |

| i think half of ot watched. good points on both sides. imo ken started out doing incredibly well. seemed as though he may have won, but his arguments and rebuttals becamse weaker and weaker to the point where (once again, imo) bill won. |

| Would say that is because more and more of his rebuttals where founded entirely on the Bible? |

| in effect, yes. he started out citing actual surveys, studies, etc. after a while, he just resorted to purely biblical rather than scientific arguments. |

| So then would you consider the Bible a fake document? |

| taken literally, as ken does, yes. you could claim that it is purely (or at least mostly) metaphorical, but then it wouldnt really qualify as being evidence for anything, would it? |

My stand is similar to Ken's in that I believe that the Bible is entirely factual.
Hypothetically, if you believe the Bible were a 100% true account, would you then say that Ken won?
If so, it would appear that who one thinks won the debate boils down to what one believes about the validity of the Bible. |

There's that thing about what you believe again.
For me and I believe for Ken Ham, the Bible IS proven. To us it IS fact.

But the thing is, the bible cannot be PROVEN to be factual.

The "cannot" is an absolute. It allows for no exception.
Now, the Bible is at least partly a documentation of History. What about the Bible makes it so that it "cannot" be proven as opposed to your school history book?
They are both documentations of history, so what makes one provable and the other unprovable? |

Animals being crammed into a boat is not an accurate historical event and if you believe so I fear for you |

We could say the same for you. How are you so sure that the event happened?

@ast
all mythological stories have been disproven. only those who believe them choose not to accept evidence. |

How force feeding a child religious beliefs at a young age affects their opinion and refusal to believe scientific facts* |

@Obama
Let's just assume there is a God for a few moments... He is an all powerful deity and can do anything His will desires.
Therefore, angels can be sent from Heaven by God.
Same thing with Satan. |

Because if I believe that flood happened, which I do, then I must also need an explanation as to why any life still remains on the Earth.
I find that explanation that I am looking for in the Bible where it says that two of every kind where brought aboard the Ark and survived. |
